Boot lid recall

Featured Replies

Took my 2021 Superb Estate in for a service yesterday and was told there was Skoda requirement for the ball studs on the boot lid to be replaced under warranty.

Anyone else come across this?

Yes, mine is a 21 estate, they replaced them when it was serviced last week saying it was a factory instruction, apparently the metal used was of inferior quality hence the replacement. Didn't cost me anything so all good.

Is this recall specific to cars with the electric tailgate or all models?

Is this the part that the strut attaches to on the car body?

Not sure, probably best to ask your dealer.

It is not a Recall if any of you were not notified before the car was actually into a dealership.   Registered Keepers.

Just a Recall Actions, a workshop service campaign,  a Skoda Secret Service campaign from a TPI.   Dont tell everyone jut those that get main dealer servicing or read forums!

http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions     If the dealers have the 'Recall notice' / TPI, then it should show for with your VIN if it applies to your vehicle.

'Safety Recalls'  ones that are with the DVLA and the manufacturers agents given the Registered Keepers contact details,

PHEV's.  or 2.0 TSI,s.

I wonder if this affects more than just the Superb as I'd expect the parts to be common ones...   I'd hate to have my Kodiaq boot lid fall on me due to a broken stud!!!

Did you get a letter/email?  I've received nothing but when I put my VIN in the above clearly shows up.  Surely Skoda have an obligation here to contact owners on recalls etc?

as i said initially - this is not my car.

hence no letter for me.

it doesn't affect the pre-facelift Superb either, so it won't even be on my radar.

a fellow facebook forum member posted this, which i shared.

also - this is not a recall where the manufacturer is required to contact u.

it is a service campaign which means that the issue can b rectified when the car is brought in for its next service.

Skoda are assuming then that you get your car serviced at the stealers!!!

True, but if u want ur car to b fixed when there r known manufacturer issues, then they expect u to take it to the stealers for servicing.

If u don't take it to the stealers for regular servicing, then it's up to u as the owner to keep on top of the recalls and/or service campaigns, and have it addressed.

Independents unfortunately won't perform service campaigns, nor address manufacturer recalls.

Ok, the screw in mine snapped on the weekend, the strut ended up scratching the inside of the car. Pretty annoyed as I do get my car serviced by Skoda. When I rang them to bring it in, they told me there was a recall about this specific issue. Something easily fixed with servicing now has to get approved meaning 2 visits and a small respray..annoying as this is exactly why you have a recall. When I use the skoda site and put my vin in, it says its been replaced. But obviously has not been.
