Do i have the dreaded stutter?

Featured Replies

Couple of times recently i've been driving along in fourth gear, roughly 2k revs, eased off the throttle then when applying the throttle again get a slight jerking.

Has happened in other gears i think but seems more noticeable when in fourth.

Is this the dreaded 06 vRS stutter? Checked the service book and it seems i have the BLT ecu code as do many others.

Whats the next step to reporting this and is there anymore news on a fix?

Cheers

Steve.

I'm afraid so, that's a perfect description of it :(.

Go to your local dealer so they can get a VAGcom reading and send to Skoda UK along with your details, so that when a fix is found you can be contacted.

Howdy,

Yes im afraid that is the classic symptons of the "stutter". I was speaking to Skoda Uk today who are apparently still "working on it" but again they stated that VW and Audi have decided to call this a characteristic rather than a problem.

This means that they are not trying to fix it nor will accept anyone trying to reject car because of it - despite Skoda saying that they are not doing this and are still trying to come up with a fix can you really see Skoda contradicting what VW, Audi and Seat have said ? - I think not.

Also as ahave just been reading thread about new Fabia and production of current one ceasing in December I cant really imagine them spending a great deal of time on this engine only used in 2006.

Unless anyone knows any different ?

Perhaps it would be better to reject car now rather than hanging on for a fix that may never come ?

Let us know how you get on whatever you decide to do

Cheers

I have not noticed the stutter for a while now. done 1100 miles and all is good.

not an issue to be honest and seemed to fade away for me. I am over the moon with the car. Whats really funny is that when the car is loaded up with people and luggage it still performs really well which I can imagine other petrol hot hatches will have a serious performance drop in similar circumstances.

anyway i'd still take the car if I was you knowing what I know now.

My two half week old vRS at dealer today getting a few things checked out (creases in rear seats, knocking coming from driveshaft/steering column when turning over rough ground, stutter etc.) and have been given their vRS demonstrator as courtesy car.

It is an 06 plate and guess what it does ?!! - yip it stutters also, however it does seem to be a bit more lively than mine. My one feels like the turbo dosnt kick in at all in comparison.

Its done double the miles of mine - is this something that will happen with more miles ?

Cheers
