Buzzing noise from dash

Featured Replies

I have an intermittent buzzing from dash.

Putting your hand on central windscreen airvent stops the noise so guessing thats the culprit.

Anybody had the same and resolved it?

Anybody know how this piece is held in place so I can try and sort it?

Once it's out I'd also look at the expanding rivets securing the intermediate piece, too (if you can see them). Endoscope maybe ideal here.

Thanks, being a man of very basic mechanical skills I think this might be beyond me and diy!

What you could also try is to push something soft (like a small soft piece of foam) on different points between the plastic trim and the dash. This way you add some additional tension between these two pieces which might stop or minimize the vibration.

That sounds like a plan....i did consider bluetac but it would be a job to get it out again.
