Keyless Entry (KISSY) Failed

Featured Replies

I've had a mooch about the forum but haven't found much that may be able to help.

A year or more ago I stopped being able to touch the door handle to lock and unlock my 2013 Skoda Superb MKII.

It used to work fine, then it started getting a bit intermittent, and then it started occaisionally trying to lock/unlock several times after a single touch, then it started to get more frequent, then it just seemed to die.

The key works fine as a standard key - the buttons work perfectly and the keyless start/stop works fine (occaisionally has a hissy fit and says it can't find the key, but that's short-lived).

I did see a post by @nicnorman in a MKIII sub-forum suggesting to check the loom between the door and the chassis as the cables degrade over time afer all the flexing - sounds feasible.

Any other suggestions from anyone?

I don't know how KISSY works. Is there a controller? If so, where is it?

What I could really do with is a decent workshop manual but I can't seem to find one. I bought the Haynes online offering but that's only marginally good for run-of-the-mill servicing. Any suggestions for a decent manual would be appreciated (I don't mind buying - doesn't have to be free!).

Cheers.

No workshop manual will solve an issue like this. I suggest you seek a reputable local independent VW dealer and get them to scan it for faults.

I did try to do that - I went to a Skoda main dealer. The whole experience was not pleasant.

They scanned error messages, found some and cleared them and gave the car back claiming it's all fixed.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "reputable"!
