Lead time Skoda Octavia VRS estate

Featured Replies

I order my VRS estate in may 2023 and was told it my take up to 52 weeks for delivery

I have been contacted today 4th August 2023 and told my car is at my local Skoda garage ready to collect

Although I am happy it has not taken a year my question is how is it even possible?

Upto 52 weeks is just that.  Anytime before.

Recently seems they have cleared the backlog of petrol ones, and now nearer 15 weeks.

But if dealer had said 15 weeks, and it was 51 weeks, then you would probably have been more disapproving.

  • 2 weeks later...

Same here, mine was delivered late last month after 12 weeks, although I'd been quoted 50 weeks. It's a petrol vRS Combi, manual box, minimal extras.

I was going to order new in April but didn't want the prospect of a 52 week wait so ended up getting one 9 months old (VRS estate). Other than some niggles, pretty happy with it.

I wish I could say the same about mine - current summary: "It's a bit 💩"

  • The alarm had a spasm on Saturday and wouldn't stop, so now I have a 45-min-each-way trip to the dealer, twice over to get it looked at.
  • The 2nd key fob was broken on delivery so I've had to wait for a replacement one - which means I couldn't use the breakdown assistance button when it had its fit as I can't register the car.
  • Lane "assist" has already tried to steer me into the wrong lane on several occasions, and can't be defaulted to "off".
  • 30mp on a straight urban road, car passes the other way - bloody great red symbol came up in the left of the MFD, no idea what it was as it's not mentioned in the manual. An incorrect collision warning? No idea.

The manual gearbox is a bit better. That's about it.

I much preferred my Mk III.

Sure can. OBD11 does it for the price of a coffee.

What about VAG-COM, any idea? Or does it require a SFD unlock?
