'Shark Fin antenna'

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone here have converted your existing superb radio antenna to those that you can find in the new model of BMW?

Seems that VW have the parts and the part number is 1K0-035-507-C/E.

you view the part in the above link.

Anyone can provide more info as to whether our Superb can take this antenna?

thank-you

Not sure, but does that have GPS antena built in??

Do you want to put up with poor reception just to change the took of it?

Not sure about poor reception though.

According to one of the OEM supplier it shouldn't affect reception much.

ebit,

do a search for shark fin and see what you think.

All the best mate

Thanks mate for the advice.

As it's an OEM part I would have thought the reception would be fine.

I would however state that fitting this will not be easy as you will need to drop the head lining and then release the current aerial replacing it with the new one, seems like a lot of work for not much benefit.

IMO the 'Shark Fin' aerial looks a little naff.

did it on mine. summary: looks nice, reception dodgy. good enough for strong FM and all AM stations, but definitely worse reception.

there's some pics on here somewhere of mine...

Pics?!?!?!

I think I'd prefer the shorter S2000 aerial option, and did.

Wouldn't work on mine anyway due to GPS receiver

I think that the S2000 aerial (which I believe fluffy01016 has) is a better option but only if you have the Sat Nav base.

Some of us however are not as lucky as fluffy01016, LOL!!

I wasn't expecting that!!

You got anymore pics of the whole car with that fin on?

no, but will get some posted when i remember.

they come as plain black and my sprayed finish isn't as glossy as i'd have liked, but it doesn't look bad if i say so myself!

That is one hell of a nice looking Superb

Looks even better now after today's little trip!!

Pics to follow!!
