Will 225/45 R17 fit Skoda Rapid?

Recommended Posts

Sounds pretty big (wide) / tall without me even doing a comparison on the various sites for comparing tyre sizes.

An idea would be to say what tyres are on now.

Are they 205/40 R17 ?

Those that know Rapids or google them might know.

@Carlstonwill likely be able to tell you about sizes,

or there are the threads in this section or the tyre section if you looked.

Looking for some new wheels as the ones on my new car came with a lot of kerb rash.

Will 225/45 R17 fit Skoda Rapid? Anyone using this size and find them OK?

As you can see below, 225/45R17 is an Octavia MK3 tyre size.

Fabia MK3 and Rapid tyre sizes

175/70R14

185/60R15

215/45R16

215/40R17

Octavia MK3 tyre sizes

195/65R15

205/55R16

225/45R17

As you can see below, the outside diameter of 225/45R17 is 5.1% bigger than 215/40R17. So is too big for the Fabia MK3 and Rapid. Also, 225/45R17 is likely to rub on the Fabia MK3 and Rapid.

Outside diameter of tyre

215/40R17 603.8mm

225/45R17 634.3mm (+5.1%)

If you're looking for slightly oversize tyres, then 195/60R15 fitted to the standard 6Jx15 ET38 5/100 57.1 rims would be a good choice. One advantage of the 195/60R15 tyre size is that it's an economical tyre size. One advantage of 15" rims is that they are lightweight.

Yeah, they absolutely don't rub. Source: I run them.
