Can you adjust the rear seat fastenings?

Featured Replies

When the rear seats in year 21 karoq are raised up the fastening strap that is supposed to secure the seats to the front seats head rest will not pull out more than a couple of inches. The strap is far to tight to pull the fastening and connect it to the front head rest as shown page 38 in the manual.

I have followed the fastening and the end of it lives at the bottom of the seats and there  appears to be in a slip cover which contains quite a bit of the fastening strap the end of the strap is hooked at the side. The strap on the hook can be taken off.

Has anyone had the fastening strap adjusted so it can be clipped to the front seats headrests?

I have been advised by the retailer they don't know how to adjust the fastening strap.  I don't believe this and would be grateful for any advice.

Not sure if what you are proposing will work, but I have found the following way works:

Move front seats back so they are closer to the rear seat.  When the rear seats are in the raised position, recline the front seats back.  This brings the headrest closer to the rear seats.  You should be able to hook the rear seats now (still hard, but do-able).

You then get back in front seats and move them back forward to your driving position and un-recline them.

Forgot to say, you can also buy 's hooks' to hook into the headrest - gives you more to play with.

Something like this: https://www.gsproducts.co.uk/stainless-steel-s-hooks/

You'd need to check if the bends are big enough to get round the headrest though

Thank you for your answer. The retailer suggested this but we are concerned the fastenings would damage the leather seats. We are using extra bungies but would have preferred the fastenings to work correctly without damaging the seats. Thank you again for your response.

I only have a problem with the centre seat.  The seat hook would only reach one of the headrests with a lot of effort.  I ended up leaving a tough zip tie permanently on the headrest making the hook easier to use.

Easier and probably safer than a metal hook.

Thanks for your comments. I've written to Skoda customer services to see what they have to say. I will post their response.
