Sat Nav question

Featured Replies

Hi all just trying to find out some information about our factory fitted sat nav MK3 2019 Fabia 1.0 TSI,  today the

Mark Dickford has forced a 20mph limit on us in Wales, not only that many other roads have been altered it's so confusing  What I'm asking can you get an updated or can you update the sd card to reflect these new limits as most people in Wales due to this blanket change don't know what limit is what  on what road , myself will never vote labour again this new law will kill Wales and they don't even realise it yet

Hello, I'm guessing that it will take some considerable time for the maps to be updated - MSN and RAC (other news providers are available) are advising drivers not to rely on GPS for reduced speed limits.

What is your experience so far - have the local authorities changed all the roadside speed signs?

VIN?

@pab567 this issue is not in any way specific to vehicle - but to when (or if) GPS gets updated with these revised speed limits. Always preferable to rely on mk.1 eyeball rather than simply following navigation system information.

How can I tell you what system you have if I don't know VIN?

It makes no difference what system OP has - the changed speed limits will be invisible to all nav systems until (or if) the navigational data is updated.

Not all signs have changed yet in fact one road has a 30mph limiyt on the way up the hill and 20mph when you go down the hill, another road stats at 20 then changes to 30 then 50 back to 40 and then 30 then it has the national limit 60 talk about confusion

Sorry only just seem the earlier posts no worries we don't reply on the sat nav for all these limits just some times signs have been removed and not replaced even before the Dickford diaster date 17th sometimes it's used as a backup to check

I always use nav as a guide, especially if I am not familiar with the route or destination, but do not rely on it for speed limits and ignore suggested routes that don't make sense.

A feature I always find useful, even when not actually using map guidance, is the compass.

SWMBO is not a good map reader, so it saves a whole lot of money on divorce lawyers when she is travelling with me. 😇
