2015 Octavia 1.4TSI

Featured Replies

Hi all,

my beloved Octavia has hit around 86,000 miles. The service is due and I’m just wondering what needs changing this year? I will be doing the usual oil, oil filter and air filter! Have I missed anything?

Thank you!

Welcome.

Maybe best ask about your Octavia in the Octavia section.

Depends what has been done up to now.

Have you looked at the Air Filter to see if it needs replacing?  When did it last get replaced?

Has the pollen filter been replaced recently, check it.

Check the Anti freeze / summer coolant ratio.

When were the spark plugs replaced?

When were the brakes serviced or the brake fluid replaced?

Hi there!

Air filter will have been replaced last year, less than 10,000 miles ago. Spark plugs were replaced by Skoda maybe 2 years ago? I think they should be ok! As for the pollen filter I have no idea but I’m sure I can find out. As long as it is nothing out of the ordinary I think all should be well.

Thanks for the reply.

If the air filter is clean and dry then a shake / dunt and blow it through or vacuum can be enough.

A Pollen filter is cheap, but clean and disinfect the area. Vacuum.

The spark plugs should be good for 40,000 miles.

The brake fluid can be tested, but if not changed for several years it should maybe be replaced.
