Minor coded mods

Recommended Posts

So the other half has joined the dark side and got a MK3 Octavia VRS estate.

She’s loves it, but she wants a few minor coded mods. Not sure the best way to go about it.

Firstly she’s after the chirp of locking and unlocking…. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste, but that’s life.

Also wants to change the coming home lights from the main lights to the fogs. As currently she’s is blinding our neighbours with them!

I don’t have a Laptop or anything like that. So unsure how to go about making these changes.

Help would be appreciated.

Take a look in the VCDS section, there is both a map and list of folk with VCDS:

Find someone local and drop them a PM politely asking if they can help 👍

I think some cars had the chirp from factory but you need to go through the car menus to turn it on/off.

Locking Chirp enable disable is in the menu "locking and unlocking" on the infotainment. It does not require coding.

Fogs as coming home requires VCDS changes. Adaptions in VCDs are here.

I'm in Brighton with full VCDS should you not find users closer by.

Only for the pre-facelift. The chirp isn’t in the menu for FL cars.
