Evening.
I’ve just taken delivery of a new Octavia.

I’m not a particular fan of Apple Play and prefer to use the ŠKODA system (or so I thought).

When I select Media, it begins playing the first song on my phone every time and I have to go through about 4 ‘back’ pushes to get it to a screen where I can select an album.
If I get out of the car for 20mins, when I get back in, rather than continuing the playlist, it is going back to the first song (alphabetical) again!

I have upgraded from a 2016 Fabia whose infotament seemed much simpler and robust.
Any ideas if I am doing something wrong?

thanks.

How about using Siri? It works a treat with CarPlay but as you’re not a fan just set up the iPhone to respond and play via Bluetooth (or cable).

Best method is to copy all your music to a USB-C stick. The infotainment system will resume where you left off each time you switch on. It will also recognise voice control. commands

On the other hand . . .does anyone know how to disable voice recognition?  The system keeps piping up and asking what I want - I don't want anything, just for the interfering #£!@ to shut up and leave me alone.

IIRC there is a setting to turn it off, buried deep in the menus.

That is, to turn off the listen for ‘Hey Laura’ thing. Then just use the steering wheel button to activate it.

Added ‘listen for…’

Hope this helps.

Thanks - mine is slightly different, but I have 'Wake word' / Active (on/off).  I shall try modifying that.
