Hi guys, 

 

New (mk2) vrs owner and group member here.

 

I've just bought it and broke down the other day with loss of power in cylinder 4. It has full service history but I the next one is clearly overdue unfortunately.

A new plug and ignition coil and she seems good as gold only the mpg estimate on the dash has dropped from 36mpg to 16-18mpg!! 

 

I've not really used it since this and will be getting it serviced asap! 

 

Can anyone tell me if this is something to worry about and if anybody else has had something like this happen?

its the coil packs and once one goes the others follow, my 2011 vrs had same issue, one failed , then another went months later so did them all  and mpg returned to normal

If it is not being driven and the dash reset to give average fuel use, instant, estimate range etc then it might well show low MPG from the time it was sitting ticking over while getting worked on.

 

I flagged the thread for a mod to move it to the Mk2 Octavia section.
