New to a Superb,

Featured Replies

Looking to buy my first Superb, petrol, and estate is a must, but wanted to know a bit more info…

-What year was the facelift released?

-have all the petrols got cambelt that needs replacing on the petrols or did they change to chain on the facelift?

-Is the 2l TSI engine same as the golf?

-How many petrol engine options were there released?

Thanks in advance

The facelift was 2020

Cambelts are about every 130,000 miles, no official time limit, but estimated about 12-15 years on EA211 tsi engines.  For long while there was 5 year recommendation to change cam belt in UK, but this is now amended to match Europe

Basically same engine is used throughout VW group models, but there are different power versions

The 2 litre engines have varied a bit in power depending on which euro6 emissions spec, they were built to, eg euro6d temp is different to euro6.   There used to be a 1.4tsi, later became 1.5tsi

1. Around 2019 I believe.

2. The 2.0TSi r chain driven, pre-facelift or facelift.

3. Yup, same engine, but different software to differentiate power outputs.

4. The following Petrol options were available:-

- 1.4 L CZDA, CZEA I4 turbo (2015–2018)

- 1.5 L DADA, DPCA I4 turbo (2018–2021)

- 1.8 L CJSA, CJSC I4 turbo (2015–2018)

- 2.0 L CHHB, DKZA I4 turbo

Would you know if all of the petrol engines are chain driven pre facelift and post facelift, would like to avoid belts if possible 😕

Aux belt and water pump should be replaced every 120,000km/75,000mi
