New Superb Owner

Featured Replies

Morning all,

As title says, I've recently become the new owner of a '22 Superb Sportline+ 2.0TSI hatch and have a few queries about it. I previously owned a '17 Octavia VRS TDI 4x4 but things are obviously different in this car.

1 - User profiles. In the octavia I was able to create driver profiles to personalise certain settings. This was nice and simple and my wife and I using 1 key were able to select who was driving when starting the car each time. The superb on the other hand wants me to enter email etc. I've paired to the app and created my profile as the priority driver or whatever but how do I now add my wife so things like Virtual Cockpit, ambient lighting, seat memory, radio etc are stored for each of us. I can only seem to find the same option of registering via email?? As stated before, we have 3 keys with the car but we tend to just use the same key for ease of use.

2 - Traffic Sign Recognition. I enabled this using OBDeleven on the octavia. Is there a guide for how to do that for the superb? I read somewhere the facelift version was different so want to make sure I've got the right settings. I'm surprised it doesn't come as standard to be honest.

3 - Lane assist. Again, something that was on the octavia and something I used to love on the motorway, is it possible to add? I'm surprised it doesn't have it already with having ACC.

4 - Mirror dip on reverse. How is this supposed to work? It's ticked in the infotainment menu but the mirror definitely doesn't dip when reversing.

FInally an observation...the reverse camera is awful quality. The picture is extremely low res, extremely disappointing. Other than that, love the car. Much more refined inside with regards to road and wind noise than the octavia and the space offered is incredible.

Thanks in advance for any help with the above.

1. It should be connected to your key.

2. Yes.

4. Turn the knob on your drivers door for the mirror on R and then when you hit reverse it should dip, otherwise if it doesn't, then manually dip it and it should save the dip you chose.

Edited by Agustnr

Mirror dip in the UK requires the knob on the drivers door to be selected to L.

RE reverse camera check that protective plastic film has been removed from camera lens, or it could just be a poor aftermarket camera has been fitted.

What he said re the camera. The quality of image is excellent on our 280.

With MIB3 the only way is to use the online profiles. And it also only makes sense to use different keys for this.

Also you should make sure your infotainment is updated otherwise it will work quite badly.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have a bash at the coding at the weekend.

Got the mirror dip sorted, found the instructions of how to store the required dip setting/return position online and works perfectly now. With regards to the camera, it is the one in the boot handle and was fitted at new by Skoda. Doesn't appear to have a film but gave it a clean and much improved, still slightly not as crisp resolution as my Mercedes CLA but definitely better now and perfectly usable..just me being fussy I suppose. Also, after being annoyed at how it gets filled in I've discovered it has a washer jet to clean it which works well.

I now have another annoyance, I'm using what I believe is the "sport" screen on the Virtual Cockpit. I can customise what is displayed on the left and the right no problem using the infotainment screen. But, yesterday morning the consumption display showed from start. Now though it shows Long Term and I can seem to figure out how to change it, or how I changed it to begin with. All I seem to be able to do is alter what is displayed there such as media, route guidance etc but can't seem to change between From Refuel, From Start or Long Term. Any ideas?

Thanks

In my 23 L&K I set the consumption on the trip/data display to be from refuel, and it also changed from refuel to the side displays instead of from start.

I figured out the consumption issue. Not exactly intuitive and there may be an easier way...

I changed to a different layout on the dash where I can alter the middle section and was able to cycle through From Start, Long Term and Since Refuel, this then changed it on the left hand display on my preferred layout when I changed back.

I must admit, the virtual cockpit is nice but (possibly user error, will have a proper play at weekend) it's a fairly clumsy system.

That's what ShaneCo meant - and yeah there's no other way to set it.

Quick update...

OBD Eleven didn't work, the menu for Lane assist appeared on both the assist menu using the steering wheel and the infotainment but just get told it's unavailable when trying to activate. Also, just got constant error messages when trying to set up Traffic Sign Recognition, OBD eleven wouldn't let me make the changes.

Also, having a nightmare trying to set up a second user profile for my wife. Registered her for a skoda connect account but when following the steps in car to add new user and entering her email and password, nothing happens and it remains me (primary user) and the guest option. Any ideas?

When it comes to lane assist and TSR - coding has changed over the years, you need to look it up for specific model year. Can't help much as my car already came with those from factory.

As for the user profiles - what is your MIB3 software version?
