CATAclean

Featured Replies

hi all,

someone has just told me about this product, its an additive that cleans out your CAT and fuel system.

im very wary of things like this.

has anyone used this stuff? any good?

I tend to steer clear of additives that claim this sort of thing, dont know why though guess I have my dought's as to what other things they MAY do.

CATAclean claims to get rid of carbon deposits. Similar additives are available from car accessory shops. I have always steered clear of additives and also 'quick fix' products like silencer bandages and Gun Gum, radiator sealant, windscreen sealant etc. The vast majority simply do not work as claimed for me, or do unwanted damage. (A radiator on my Jaguar 3.4 expired after I had used Holts Radweld to cure a leak. The Radweld stopped the flow of coolant through the radiator as well as curing the leak!)

Snake Oil anyone?

Forget it Kenny, its a waste of money.

But Geoff, the good people on the shopping channels say it works wonders so it must be true.

Cheapskate or what?

But Denis, it looks just like the real thing. Plus you could get three for a fiver on 'Diamonique Night' every Wednesday. You just never know...

Like the cheap cr@p Harry Green on QVC tries to pass off as "professional" equipment

The only "additive" i've ever bothered with is the Occasional shot of Redex, on my older cars. Anything else is a waste of money IMHO :)
