Solenoid clicking next to battery!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, can you tell me what the solenoid (behind the battery and bolted to the bulkhead) is for please?

it has 3 pipes connected and a single plug.

it’s clicking all the time and a ‘fuel rail pressure low’ code has come on as well!

Are they related?! TIA

What engine do you have ?

I hope I haven’t bought one of those cars that keeps throwing up problem after problem?! 😳

apart from the clicking solenoid, I now have a noisy wheel bearing, an intermittent EML and last night discovered my central locking has stopped working and the boot won’t open!?!!

Great start to Skoda ownership!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

That looks like a boost control solenoid, it's supposed to click, you'd know if it wasn't working because you'd have no turbo boost!

All could be linked to a dodgy battery apart from the wheel bearing , the battery might be on its way out , that does indeed look like a boost control solonoid

What's going on with the hose right at the bottom of that pic?

Looks like it has been cut partway through but very neatly. :wondering:

I feel I'm missing something or not seeing it right.

Looks like a male/male joiner, both pieces cut clean at 90° so a factory fitment?
