Does the mk4 vrs iv have the led door lights in the rear doors too or just the front doors and along the dash

I think from my memory only the front when I've looked back at the rear doors to check I haven't seen them, which is a shame.  I'll re check for you when I'm in the car next and get back as soon as i can.  I believe mine is that model that you're referring to.

The only reason I ask is I was in a skoda superb taxi and noticed it had the illuminated rear inside doors

I don't know about the superb. I suspect it being a more upmarket luxury model may have this feature that the octavia misses. Maybe someone with a superb can comment.

Just checked mine as I couldn't remember, the rear doors do not have the led lights - it may be different for other markets but I doubt it somehow...

They don’t have the rear lights strips in the doors. It’s a big shame as the kids are always disappointed about it.

also the promotional models showed prior to the mk4 release had them, even the early brochures listed them, but none of the cars came with them.

must have been a last minute decision to not include them at release.

the vrs does have coloured lights in the rear footwells though, and illuminated door handles in the rear

I know about the footwear, but illuminated door handles, I didn't notice that, I'll have to check it out tonight.

So unfortunately the rear door handles in my Octavia RS are not illuminated the only thing illuminated is the footwells.

The rear footwell lights are not limited to the vRS, I have them too.

That’s a shame. Here’s a photo of mine. Admittedly in the day time but you can see the led light there lit up

Oh OK so the other Octavia models miss out. Here is the dashboard. I sort of wish they were a bit brighter (this is at the highest) though I can understand they may be a destruction. 20231121_213616.thumb.jpg.af8c4f5416e2440a89d091bbbfaa08c0.jpg

Oh that's great I wish mine had those, what model do you have? Was yours manufactured after June,  because mine is from the first build from January to June with my one being in June.

it’s a vrs ordered jun 21 delivered September 22 so gawd knows when it was built.

i missed out on the dials over maps virtual cockpit upgrade though, so i think it’s my21 build.

I've got the rear door handle lights on my Jan 2021 Octavia RS.

But I thought everyone might find this interesting. A Russian owner has retrofitted rear light strips AND pocket lights.

He has three part guide here: https://www.drive2.ru/l/647835000938439674/

It looks super involved, but the pocket lights look doable by the average DIYer. I might even have a go myself.

Oh I wonder why they don't include them any more in the latest octavia models. That's very bright I have to say re the after market not sure if I like it that bright. Though i may think differently if i saw it in person Thanks for sharing the links.

The spec of Octavia IV models has changed regularly, often the reason given is component shortages (also the reason given for some VERY long delivery delays).

He actually made the rear lights by Frankenstein-ing BMW and ŠKODA parts together with the exisiting door panel trim.

I’m not sure about the door handle lights they’re still on the 2023 Australian Spec Octavia’s.

  • 1 year later...

Does anyone know where can i get the replacement parts ? For the dash etc

In the vRS the rear door handle lights only operate when the ignition is on. I just tried mine by unlocking it and getting in the back and they weren’t lit but the rear footwell lights were lit.

I then opened the front door and turned the ignition on without starting the engine and the rear handle lights then come on.

Mine’s a January 22 registered vRS.
