Frozen windscreen washer jets retro fit heated ?

Featured Replies

Journey yesterday starting in - 6C , jets didn't clear until I'd parked for about half an hour despite some windscreen anti freeze stuff .  Have now doubled and hoping for tomorrow

I see there's a heated option when new, but can this be retro fitted, thanks

Yes it can be retrofitted. 2 new washer jets (genuine are £20 each)

a ground wire, a power wire running into the cabin to the bcm

and a single adaption change in the bcm.

easy in theory but running the wires neatly inside the car can be a bit time consuming

I’ve heated washer jets and the lines can still freeze. Best to just use a really good winter additive at the correct dilution.

Thanks .  Gonna give it one more try with stronger fluid before speaking to garage

It will still freeze probably when it hits the glass ,ive tried lots of different ones ,they stay liquid in the bottle but not when sprayed on icy cold glass .

Aye , it does that sometimes too- you tend to get a quick wipe of some sort of you don't use too much , but the other day was very bad . In nearly every layby there was a car or two cleaning their windscreen .Safe motoring.
