TSR - Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Featured Replies

Out of interest if they were insolvent in Jan 2005, then why did they take £5k up front. SOunds like they knew they were going under and trying to get as much money back as possible. Eg they couldn't pay for the parts so you had to pay for them. Bad news :(

Lee - dunno if you're gonna read this thread again, but if you do PM me your mobile number and I'll give you a bell tomorrow. On my way to Weston in the morning, I'll drop by at 9am/9.30am (ish) and take a look around and see if any info has been put up regarding the whole thing. :)

It may also be worth to contact your insurance company, assuming you are insured fully comp.

Good luck though!

Chris (aka Tiptronic) has been up there this evening already and given me some the name and phone number for what I assume is the appointed receiver so I will try these people on Monday. Thanks for offer.

Re paying up front, when the car went there originally, Neal explained that they would usually buy parts in upfront but with the customers funds as they didn't have big piles of cash sitting around to pay for everything before billing the customer - which seemed acceptable to me, being that on the face of it they appeared to be a respected and well established company. Can't take anything at face value these days then I guess.....

OK - glad someone's been able to help. I'll scoot on straight past Bridgwater then. :)

Sorry it wasn't glad tidings. I've tried to look up those details I gave you, but nothing seems to spring up so far.

Perhaps you could pass them on to any other interested parties (Badger5 etc)?

Hopefully you should be able to make contact and claim your car back fairly soon though, if nothing else.

All the Best

Chris

just found this link off cgti forum

thanks folks..

more letters to them now.

cheers. (but not holding my breath for recovering anything)

also for note following some searching of my own:

Coincidentally, this Sutton became a director shortly after Neal resigned his directorship. Same surname and address.

Hi Lee

Any further developments? Have you been able to get your car back, and if so, had they actually done anything to it?

Hi Badger5

I hope you can make your retention of title stick. Some receivers will try to wriggle out of retention of title unless you have something signed to say the the company you supply accept your terms and conditions.

Make sure that your invoices/terms and conditions mention that goods are your property until all monies outstanding are paid. One get-out clause is if it says that the goods remain your property until that particular invoice has been paid, they will try to claim that X goods actually relate to Y invoice, which had already been paid.

We had it happen at work recently. Company went down owing us

No further developments to report, but will up date as and when.

retention of title arguement will ensue, 1st pass from Battys today, sounding like they are challenging title from the off.

Not what Jayne had said would be cooperating...

My invoices have had Goods remain the propery of Badger5 Ltd until paid for in full for a number of years, following credit card fraud which cost me a few

have just read some of the posts about this...not good at all:( have just done a check on that VAT and its not a valid number!!

What about.....

I think that's the one. I always knew TSR Bridgwater to stand for 'Tim Stiles Racing'

Your car will be ok - you have proof it is yours in the form of your V5 document.

Should get the 5k refunded too, good job you paid on credit card and not switch

Yes, any I believe with no engine. Still, I think my Bro can sort out the transportation issue. I have no idea when it might be back on the road. Don't think it'll be at Trax in September.

My mate hires trailers, but he's down in this way though. However he also does "man + van + trailer" for around 60p a mile, so from Devon, to TSR, to you and back to Devon might be around £225? I can ask him for a proper quote if you want. done off multimap. :)

Thought I'd resurface this thread to up date people on the progress of my motor and TSR. TSR are now longer having gone into adminstration back in June. It has taken a while to sort things with my credit card company, because fortunately everything paid up front was by credit card.

Anyhow, finally saw my car yesterday for the first time in 10 months. All there still (other than the engine bay is just a load of pipes, tubes and suspension/drive shaft bits!. Engine and other bits is scattered through a number of boxes as well as a car boot full of bits. Anyway, good news is that it is all there other than a new IHI turbo which has gone missing and a pranged rear bumper that needs replacing.

The block and head have been machined, and there are new custom made forged pistons and H-section rods boxed, ready and waiting.

Fingers crossed, it should be back on the road by Christmas at the latest.

So lessons learnt?

1) Don't pay for work up front, if the garage can't buy the bits in and bill you at the end or in installments, then walk away

2) Always pay by credit card (for purchases over

Phew! Good news Lee.

So dare I ask, where are you taking it to get it put back together now?

Good to hear Lee  Must admit I respect massively your pragmatic / philospohical approach to all this even though I know that inside you are full scale "Denis" :grumpy: Hope the yellow peril is up and running soon :)

Lee,

Really sorry to hear of your misfortune and all the hassle. Something like this teaches us all a salutory lesson about coughing up any amount of dough. :thumbdwn:

It is so sad that companies can lie and cheat and be so dishonest:finger: to people, I guess that's why scumbags like that aren't trading anylonger.

I hope you find someone reputable to complete the work for you, I guess running a Dun & Bradstreet and companies house check will be top of the list when checking out the next supplier.

I wish you all the best mate and if you have access to a car on the 22nd and want a day with your ole Briskoda mates, come up to the Midlands for the day and I'll buy you a pint!;)

Take care and hope it all gets sorted out :D

good news lee, hope its fully built and better than ever soon :)
