Welcome to the forum.

There is a Cars for Sale section and it is cheap to advertise in there.

This is not a car for sale. Please re-read advertisement for your info.

Not a car for sale only because a mod removed that post.  So sorry for my reply to that still showing.  But the entry is now missing.      Was it not breaking or repair £2,500?

Yes, a for sale post was there a couple of days back.

There are also  parts for sale and breaking cars for sale sections available to freedom and freedom lite members.

Anyone knows where I can find a match gearbox code MPP ?

I have contacted this seller on ebay, he is not bulging on the price. He wants £1050 for the gearbox include delivery

That is because the vRS is usually sold for parts / broken because the DQ200 is gubbed or the twincharger engine is or both.

If i was selling one i would be asking lots for it as well if it was a good one.

But that is the issue, getting a good one.

PS

If it is a car for yourself then @thomasaspincan maybe tell you about what you need to fit a DQ250 6 speed wet clutch DSG over and above a DQ250.

Yes it is mine car, i desperately need the gearbox ASAP. i am getting threatened by the garage to take my car away as i could not afford to pay over a£1000 for a used gearbox.

?

How much are they charging to fit it?

They are not like hens teeth, a good one is rarer than that and it is a lottery buying a used one.

Pre late 2012 it might have had Service Campaign ;34F7' and the synthetic oil changed and a software up date & from 2013-2015 maybe 34H5 and a software update.

Unless refurbished by a trusted seller you might be buying something no better than it replaces and if it has a Warranty and gets replaced with another you still have the 2nd cost of changing it.

What’s up with your gearbox ?

The garage quoted me £450 to replace the damaged gearbox for a 'used gearbox'. This is quite insinuating being a regular customers, just taking a micky out of myself. Now, I cannot move the car from the garage unless i paid a recovery truck £150 to m9ve it to amother garage or my home.

I have checked online, these gearbox are retailing over £1700 to £2500 online in Poland 🇵🇱 and Germany 🇩🇪. The postage is ridiculous too.

Either i sold the car as spares or repair. Bought the car for over £2500 online auction , did not realised it has a damaged gearbox. (nobody to blame except myself).

Gearbox is faulty, nothing happens when put in gear, knocking & tapping noise from the engine bay. Check engine, engine OK as per the mechanic

They are that cheap because the engine or the DSG is shagg3d or both.

Even cheaper than that sometimes in the for sales on here.

Ones sold for spares or repairs do go back on the road, but if you are paying a garage it is going to cost.

I hope the engine is OK.  That is worth money, but then it might not even be the original from 2011.

Where are you based happy to take a look , what fault codes come up when scanned

That's because a grand is cheap for a working DSG gearbox!

I presume you mean insulting not insinuating, why do you believe £450 is an insult, it sounds reasonable to me given the risks involved with an unknown gearbox and other problems that may come to light with an unknown auction purchase vehicle.

It is not unreasonable for a garage to want shot of a vehicle taking up space if they are not going to be working on it.

Compare the £450 for all the work and risk involved compared to the £150 for a recovery and do you still think the garage is taking the mick? Have they raised a bill for the work they have done thus far, storage etc?

If it's stuck in neutral what's to stop you towing it home?

That is the only solution left or unless sold privately. I have been offered £1000, when i bought the car £2500 a week ago.

Obviously it's your decision but I wouldn't do anything with it at the moment, just get a mate to help you tow it away from the garage back to your place for now.

The gearbox that's in it may be repairable if you talk to the guys on this forum nicely.

Good morning & Happy New year to all Skodians.

I have it towed to my friend's house. Thanks for the advice. Any update about the gearbox at a reasonable price, kindly drop me a message.
