FRONT SPRING SNAPPED

Featured Replies

So replaced my driver's side front spring about 7/8 weeks ago and it's snapped again already.

Was OE part from GSF and they are gonna send it back to manufacturer for me for inspection.

Am wondering what could have caused it to snap so soon ?? In the past if I've replaced shocks/dampers I always do both sides but never on springs.

Maybe just bad luck but am wondering if the mechanic fitted it right but the car drive fine once he'd replaced it.

Any advice greatly appreciated and thanks for reading 👍👍

I know this is not the case this time but I would  always replace things like Springs, Shocks, etc in pairs as when a part fails you

have  think the part on the other side has done the same mileage /ware so plus say a new spring then puts extra pressure on the old one.

Just my twopeneth

Yeah your right TBF on previous I've always done everything in pairs but not springs and never had any issues.

The front driver side am assuming has the most weight cos am like 20 stone and live in a city with speed bumps everywhere.

Cheers for reply 👍
