Software version 1940

Featured Replies

Hi all, long time lurker just joined.
having convinced myself most of the issues with the mark 4 had been resolved I ordered a 1.5 e tech SEL DSG mid last year. Original delivery was going to be mid this year but the car was delivered at the beginning of December. Stunning looking car ( petrol blue ) but three days in complete crash of the infotainment. I was gutted. Smaller crash three days later but a couple of OTA updates and it hasn’t crashed again. I have all the noises and creaks and small annoying software glitches that seem to be associated with the mark 4 sadly. But, I have software version 1940 installed not 1941. I assumed it would be 1941 so slightly concerned as it’s a new build. Awaiting response from the selling dealer. Anyone else got 1940 installed ?

Yeah mine is 1940 as well. Picked up in October. It’s a phev

If your car's infotainment system is crashing, on a regular basis, get it booked into your dealer for rectification, it takes about ½-¾ hour to do, I don't know if it will be FOC though, if it's within the warranty period, then it most certainly should be done under warranty & FOC.

1941 has generally been a very stable build, although there have been a few exceptions.

Congrats on your new car. Just curious about what "noises and creaks" you're experiencing?

Rattles from the drivers door and creaks and knocks from the rear seat area. Also got the strange noise that seems to be steering column related that one or two have mentioned. I will get the dealer to look ( listen ) to them of course. It’s a shame they’re present, it’s a cracking car. This is my 6th Skoda, never had any issues, so just a bit miffed at things like this so early on.

OK, that would drive me mad. Hope you can get it sorted. Have to say mine is tight as a drum, literally never had any such noises, or infotainment issues for that matter. I am aware that others have reported similar complaints in here though. Overall I've found this car to be extremely well put together and very well soundproofed. Maybe I'm just lucky...

Yes, I'm the same - haven't experienced any of these issues.

I've noticed that for some reason the majority of people experiencing problems (particularly ongoing issues) seem to be UK based, I wonder if it's something to do with different specs?

Hmm, really not sure mate. Skoda's sell in much greater numbers in UK/Europe so I guess the odds of a few more faulty ones cropping up over rhere are likely to be greater.

Regarding the software version, I was rather surprised a brand new car didn’t  have 1941 installed, I assume 1940 is an ‘old’ version and not just a version of 1941. I have asked this of the supplying dealer but waiting for a response.

1940 is the factory equivalent to the 1941 update.

Ah, thanks for that Jorgeminator that’s good to hear and puts my mind at rest somewhat.
Thanks all for your interest, I’m sure the niggles will get sorted, it is, as I say a lovely car.

Everyday is a school day, I've just learnt something new 🙂

My source is the TPI (1941) from last summer. It's only briefly mentioned and easy to miss.
