Twas the comment of a colleague this morning as the last time he saw me I was in a green estate, this morning a white vRS.

So thoughts 4x4 versus vRS?

 :nono: :santa:

Let me drive it a bit more, once the new car sensation is gone I can report honestly.

Suffice to say SWMBO is far happier which is always a bonus :D

  • It's had stuff done to it already (debadged grille, WRC wing, etc...) so why not go for it. It's your car and you should enjoy it how you want it.

...this morning a white vRS.

What number are you, Colin?

Congrats Colin - was this the one that was advertised on here a little while ago?

heh

now I can be mad murdoc in his white corvette, you can be whoever in your inverted converted Rs van...

Although I think I can say the 4x4 is not a fools car, it's hard to fool it?

hey this fence is great, c'mon and join me for a while :D

Nice one Colin!

Looks like you have a top new car.

It will be interesting to here your pros and cons after driving the car for a few weeks.

As an unbiased statement, I had a 4x4 hatch for a few days whilst my car was delivered and I didn't like it, partly due to the high ride and grey plastic interior.

Winter hill is normally where I go as proving ground although of late there have been a number of speeding traps set-up in Belmont and Horwich on Leverpark avenue.

Sorry to be pedantic mate, but 'Face' had the Corvette. ;)

Congrats on your purchase, maybe a drive out soon?

I think this is where the "thursday night" crew go...not 100% as not that local. But yes very enjoyable up there. One thing I am learning of late given speed traps etc, it that speed does not kill, just costs more. So instead of pushing on past 60, just try and hang on to 60 where possible...of course it's a bit tedious at times and now I'm a little more visible perhaps a bit more risky. :bouncer:

Arh but I'm sure Murdoc is much more me and thought about his vette...hence adding to the delusions of somthing or other...can I stop digging now? :)

I think a drive out soon will be in order. Depends if you fancy a work day eg say this Friday ;) or a evening or a day after crimbo / weekend next year.

Whats your verdict on the Superchip then & any ideas on figures?

murdoch was a pilot. (crazy at that) - bout right for Col

face had a plastic bodied drop top sports car....(vette) not sure who that could be..

B.A. had a van (reminds me of Cooke.... but less gold)

Hannibal was always driven. but was sodding old so could be Denis?

re superchip,

umm hard to say, suffice to say it needs some work I think. Pulls well, seems to lack the urge sometimes, but that is posssibly more the sensors and ecu not listening to each other and cutting. It's decatted or somthing or other, which apparantly causes the shelf pgms an issue. So I guess I need to call Skoda help line in Peterborough for some time in the new year. However it certianly is not problem as it stands now...deceptively quick is this car, train pullling potential if I had the traction ;)

Congratulations, Colin - that looks, erm, WHITE! :D

[serious no-trolling question warning :p ]

Any thoughts on the traction control yet? Is it any good? You should be a qualified judge... ;)

I can imagine... Those were the first things I got ride of!

Congrats on the new purchase Colin, I knew you couldn't resist it :D

Now you only need to convince Ian to do a black sticker run ;).

Well - I nip off for a few days to get the car upgraded to hyper-speed and one of, who I considered, to be one of the main supporters of the 4x4 nips off and bags himself a WRC vRS... :D

Hope it's not a mid-life crisis, Colin. Damn nice looking car.

Colin, are you the first defector in the pack?

Dutch, your options over there are a lot better than the ones Skoda UK are offering. Also cost was an issue, with the 4x4 costing more

Colin would appear to be the first one of them to come to his senses........

For the first time northwest meets can now russle up one of each colour... just need yellow / silver / black to get wrc wings and we have a complete set!

Nice one Colin!

Welcome to the dark side.

Nice car.

If I hadn't been so impatient :nono: , I might have had that one ...

Mind you, I'm pretty pleased with my humble un-modified vRS.

....for now. ;)

I guess Colin bought Elisesports WRC.......that's sweet. Runs a superchips and a decat exhaust IIRC.

If you don't mind me asking Colin, what made you change your 4x4 for a WRC and would you have considered a bogo vRS?

Cheers.

Adrian.

p.s there will be a group remap buy in January. Got a few peeps already asking.
