  • It's had stuff done to it already (debadged grille, WRC wing, etc...) so why not go for it. It's your car and you should enjoy it how you want it.

Now you only need to convince Ian to do a black sticker run ;).

err Me Too Please !!!

Welcome to the dark side.

Welcome to the Light Side I think !!!

Congrats on the car.

Hmmmm Now I am wondering about the Green on my bumpers !!

I guess Colin bought Elisesports WRC.......that's sweet. Runs a superchips and a decat exhaust IIRC.

If you don't mind me asking Colin' date=' what made you change your 4x4 for a WRC and would you have considered a bogo vRS?

Cheers.

Adrian.

p.s there will be a group remap buy in January. Got a few peeps already asking.[/quote']

It does run a decat and superchip. "Why?", a question to be debated for a long time. It's certainly.....full review soon :D

I did consider a *bogo* vRS, I looked about for deals on the web and local dealers, because I nipped in at trade it was a hard offer to beat. it did of course cost money to change, but hey lifes short. A black Rs was tempting, but same price and 8 months older, just 12k less miles.

The only odd thing, if it's odd at all is the black rub strips, and not green...Other than that still happy, having seen Huck's car recarpeted to black, I'm tempted to follw his lead. one hand says mind the limited edition aspect of the car, the other says it's just a car. Due for a clean soon.

A few pics pre-purchase are here, noting eyebrows are now removed.

Xennons are great, full is a bit weak and hey ho, so might have to add some driving lights to the hollowed out grill. Although while pootling back enjoying a fine rollie or two i.e. about 70mph inside lane, I did notice an improved ability of BMw owners to indicate...must just be my imagination. Like the large wing should give me away as not being a member of the police force.

How about some blue lights under the grill:D

I must admit I was glad to hear you had removed those awful light covers!

The rest of the car looks great

Question is...who's the next defector going to be?

They look far better on the stickered RS.

Not sure there will be one, my reasons are at best warped :D

re superchip' date='

umm hard to say, suffice to say it needs some work I think. Pulls well, seems to lack the urge sometimes, but that is posssibly more the sensors and ecu not listening to each other and cutting. It's decatted or somthing or other, which apparantly causes the shelf pgms an issue. So I guess I need to call Skoda help line in Peterborough for some time in the new year. However it certianly is not problem as it stands now...deceptively quick is this car, train pullling potential if I had the traction ;)[/quote']

Colin,

Congrats on the new wheels.

My own experience of Superchips is that it is all about torque and not power. I had mine checked at S/C HQ and it was putting out under 200 bhp and the torque was around 233lbf.ft. There is very strong torque at around 3000 rpm but it dies off too quickly hence little power increase. This means in the real world having no top end when you need it. As a result I went Jabba and although not so much low down grunt its chalk and cheese thereafter. If I were you I'd do the same especially as you have wide bore / decat exhaust.

Chris,

thanks for that, certianly feels alive lower down. If the exhaust note is anything to go by in that range anyway. It does seem to pull better and smooth than the 4x4, but not sure it's as quick, but it's very very deceptive, which means it is quicker. Long hills on M-way etc the 4x4 kicked up them the rs just crawls up till you spot the needle erm moving at a rate of some.

Jabba is on the cards, but not sure when, want to settle the finances down, to say I was not ready for a new car is an understatment. Just have to pray the roof loves the house and stays attached.

Might be an expensive winter, ho hum only live once and I guess I'm not retiring any time this side of 100. (adjusted age figures for future goverment improvments to the system)

re: The Superchip.

Welcome to a very exclusive club within a club

Congratulations on your purchase Colin.

Colin,

I didn't say that post Jabba the peak torque went up to 248 lbf.ft. and is pretty flat up to 4900. Whereas S/S tails off much more steeply.

Chris

Colin,

Nice wheels and I love the spoiler, looks baaaaaaadddd!!

Is that front grille standard to the special edition, as I seem to think they are all the same. It looks bloody nice though and what's with the plate?

U R not an accountant R U? If so I bet the plates worth a good few quid!!

Nice one.

Look forward to seeing U at a meet.

Goodbye, Colin........... :( :nono:

I refer you to the following reply posted elsewhere which will more than suffice:

Sorry for the late reply but it does need saying: NO![/b']

It's only a matter of time.

Congratulations Colin

Good to see you finally made the right decision. I look forward to seeing the new beast sometime soon ;)

I also have no plans to drive an Octavia with 2WD.

PLEASE let it snow this year so that us 4x4 owners have some solid arguments going for us !

I think mine would hold up pretty well against a 4x4 in snow. I have a secret weapon

Yes lets hope it snows...

Then us RS owners can rely on our driving skills, and not some Heath-Robinson mechanical aid to keep us on the road ;) :drive:

Oh Lord please let it rain for forty days and forty nights so I can use my Barge. :D

And your umbrella.........

And your umbrella.........
It's only a 16" one at the moment so doesn't provide much protection from the rain but Des is looking to upgrade to a 17" one if he can pick one up cheap in For Sale & Wanted. :(
[i']Well behaved though it is (ie Superb 1.8T), keen drivers are best looking elsewhere.[/i]
