That looks er, a little more sporty.

It's only a 16" one at the moment so doesn't provide much protection from the rain but Des is looking to upgrade to a 17" one if he can pick one up cheap in For Sale & Wanted. :(

An upgrade you can't make Denis, a bit of that dynamic green with perhaps.

  • It's had stuff done to it already (debadged grille, WRC wing, etc...) so why not go for it. It's your car and you should enjoy it how you want it.

Colin, if you ever get bored of "plain" white...

Coming from the self-styled bargeman, who also goes under the following nom de plumes - Bar Mange, Grab Mane, Mean Brag, B A Manger, B Manager, Marge Nab, Bra Mange, Rab Mange, Gear Ban, Rage Ban, Brag E Man, Mean Garb, Bang Mare, Ram E Bang etc etc - that is a bit cruel, Des! :(

And do they share your fascination with Skodas? On the whole, I find people don't.

We could start a poll. How many times a day do you get funny looks when you talk enthusiastically about your Skoda? :o

They think the car's the best thing since sliced bread :D

I've trained those children well ;)

I also have no plans to drive an Octavia with 2WD.

PLEASE let it snow this year so that us 4x4 owners have some solid arguments going for us !

Snow isn't really a solid argument, is it? :D

Oh, and why wait for snow, Rob? Simply driving away from the lights without the TC system shrieking from under the bonnet is an everyday pleasure already.

It does seem to pull better and smooth than the 4x4' date=' but not sure it's as quick,

I'm sure we can test that theory... ;)

Only just got on here, the car looks very clean :eyecrazy: good choice though buying a vRS  .

I already explained that to you, the RS is longer geared. A lot of manufacturers use lower gearing in their cars to make the appear quick :D

try a lighter flywheel and 215-35/18's then the gearing is not such a handicap.

Hi Colin, back from France this morning and glad you're pleased with the old girl! Just tell them all on here that I took the 'eyebrows' off within 24 hours of them being fitted! Urrgh!

When I complained to Superchips about the odd hesitation in power delivery they offered to put it on their rollers at HQ and tweek it, I just never got around to it as I think they are in Buckinghamshire and (as you know) everywhere is a long way from Cornwall! It still pulls like a train and has seen off the odd Porsche Boxter or two on the road and a basic Elise on a standing 1/4 mile although I have to admit his reactions were a bit slow!

My purchase of the ex-management Superb fell through when the dealer and I rejected the car! When it arrived from Skud HQ it had been loaned to a car mag who had abused it somewhat. They have provided me with another car pending finding a suitable replacement. 2.5 V6 Tdi... smooth!

Have a good Christmas guys and thanks for some entertaining reading whilst a member of the elite VRS club! :drive:

murdoch was a pilot. (crazy at that) - bout right for Col

face had a plastic bodied drop top sports car....(vette) not sure who that could be..

B.A. had a van (reminds me of Cooke.... but less gold)

Hannibal was always driven. but was sodding old so could be Denis?

.... and the whole series was utter rubbish :D

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :(

No come on Jon, to be fair he has a point. Glad Battle Star Galatica surpassed it in every way.

Like, not even close!

Mind you, them Duke boys were the best...apart from their "cousin"... :bouncer: :bouncer:

Rob.

a-team rules...

I'm thinking more "vanishing point" when I look at #97, anyone got a couple of spare bulldozers?

:D

Only the A-Team could get away with being pinned down in a barn, surrounded by the best chunk of the US army, and come crashing out in some tank made out of straw and a few zip ties. :D (oh, and kill everyone, without actually ever appearing to kill them)

(It was my era, along with airwolf & Knight rider of course. "Michael, I must strongly object to this course of action")

I'm sure Daisy Duke would be a natural candidate for this too, surely? :bouncer: :bouncer:

Rob.

Hmmmmm. Daisy Duke - with the shorts that rode right up bet....

Better get back to work

Yep, it happens to men of our age. Sometimes they get overwhelmed by, erm, nostalgia... :D
