The 1.0TSI is now no longer available in the Octavia and has been replaced by the 1.5TSI 115bhp version.
I’m not sure if the 1.5TSI 115bhp has ACT but maybe someone else here does ?

That 115PS figure is what is being queried by Otohere - the 1.5TSI is rated at 150PS/148BHP. Or are you saying that there's a new, de-rated engine now being used?

added information

There are 2 versions of the 1.5TSI.

There is a 148bhp and 115bhp. At least that’s what’s offered here in Ireland.

The 115bhp version is new to the market.

^^^ Interesting.

@CaptainPrice  On a phone you can not see your location or vehicle. I had no idea you are in Ireland but that does not matter.

VW Group have a nice economic 116ps 2.0 TDI engine.     I had never heard of the 115 ps 1.5 TSI.

It's been in some VW models for a while, including the new Tiguan,

Is more economical than the 1.0TSi on the latest tests.

There's also a 130ps in some markets.

?

Is it available with Skoda Octavia or others in the UK?

1.5 TSI non ACT, & manual only or with a DSG?

The 1.5 115bhp is available in the Octavia here in Ireland. I have ordered one with manual gearbox and am waiting on delivery.

It can be gotten in both manual and DSG.

my understanding is that the ACT is only in the MHEV (e-TEC) engine which i think has DSG only.

it may be different in the UK.

UK is similar.

116ps 1.5TSi is available manual and dsg. Both have ACT, only the DSG gets e-Tech.

They have high C02 figures.

  • 4 months later...

Sorry for jumping on this thread. I just bought a ocatvia 1.0 and got a warning from a mechanic saying it won't last me long... Telling me that I should sell it after it hits 120.000 miles (200.000km's) to prevent expensive repairs. Is it true that these engines are know for early wear and tear?

I have always thought a good way of checking is to look through second hand ads and put in the filter from 150000 and then look at the history!

That's a great idea! How did I never thought of that!

I had a Ecoboost engine in a Ford Focus. Everyone told me it wouldn’t last more than 10000 km without the wet belt clogging and destroying the engine. Having spent a small fortune on replacing it at 75000 km I was amazed at how many were still running well after 200000 km without no intervention re cambelt. Although still glad I replaced it for peace of mind,

It's a small engine working hard.

I've seen them get well past 150,000 miles without issue. That said, aside from a beefy diesel, I personally wouldn't want to own any newer car past 120,000 miles. Too much is plastic, which is affected by heat cycles.

@jeroen_jonkmans welcome. How old is the car you bought and how many miles had it done now? And how many miles a year will you be doing?

Hi,

Having sold my Yeti I am looking to replace it and like the look of the Karoque

Here is where it gets complicated for me.

What is then difference between the 1litre TSI and 1.5 TSI engine. Apart from the obvious.

I know the 1 litre has a 3 cylinder turbocharged unit with a wet cambelt. Does the 1.5 have the same system or is it a 4 cylinder with conventional cambelt?

Thanks for reading.

I have a new 1.5 karoq and a 2017 rapid 1.0 both are dry belts but I do not agree with the extended milage my wifes rapid is 50k milage and 7 years old the belt will be changed very soon
