New shock absorbers

Featured Replies

Have Dcc in my Skoda, have to change the  shock absorbers in the back and wonder if the new ones have to be "calibrated" or coded into the car?
Or is it just to change?

Just change.

No need to code or recalibrate, provided u haven't changed the DCC controller/module.

On the subject of shocks - this may be a stupid question - but how do i tell if I need DCC or normal shocks.  The modes i have are eco, drive & sport (no comfort mode setting).  Or is there a way of visually checking?

Last MOT the garage said there was some misting from one, so I'm thinking to replace them before the next MOT.

thanks

given u have no Comfort mode, that is an indication u don't have DCC.

visually, u can physically have a look at the shock absorber to see if there is protruding small cylinder bit, as shown by the red arrow in the pics below.

if it does, u have DCC.

if it doesn't, u don't have DCC

thank you @JR RS,  that picture without the DCC is what i have. I'll do the visual check as well.  I know there's lots of good info on here to help decide on which shocks to get now.
