Weird electric window fault - swapped over!

Featured Replies

A really weird one on the Mk1 Fabia (52 plate) yesterday.

There have been occasional central locking issues for a few years (randomly locks/unlocks while driving) but yesterday the front rlectric windows swapped over….the left button openi g the right wi dow and the right button opening the left. Today, it is back to normal!

Anyone seen this or can throw any light on it?

It's happened to me once, the convenience module occasionally gets confused and thinks it's in a LHD car, usually it's due to random voltage fluctuations so it's worth charging the battery if you've been doing lots of short journeys.

For the central locking issues check the wires for both front doors. Had the same issue with random locking and then not locking at all. Drivers side wires were broken. That brown connector is for the central locking.
