Interior light fuse change leading to oil sensor workshop warning.

Featured Replies

Hi

First time posting here, owned my vrs for 2 weeks now, absolutely loving her but one problem was really bugging with my O.C.D. I had no interior, glovebox or boot lights working. I managed to find the problem which was a blown fuse, replaced and all working well now.

Unfortunately soon after I replaced fhe fuse I'm now getting a orange oil sensor workshop displaying on the dash when I start the car. I've checked the oil levels which are fine. The warning displays for 2/3 seconds once I've turned her over then goes.

Is this something I need to worry about?

I would get the car scanned with VCDS or something similar see if there is any fault codes stored that may help with the problem.

Cheers mate, I'm booked into a garage for Tuesday to do that. Nothing has popped up on dash today so I'm assuming/hoping it's just a faulty/loose wire somewhere.

Just an FYI these cars of ours have an annoying habit of turning on random warning lights if the battery has been disconnected or the voltage has gone low.  If that's the cause the lights clear up after a short run - usually less than a mile.  The reason behind this behaviour is the various computerised controllers in the cars which don't tolerate insufficient voltage to operate properly and tend to throw up incorrect error conditions when they're deprived of their life-essence :)
