Confirm your participation (only if you have booked ferry & hotel) in this event by adding your name/s here.

Thankyou.

Hmm take along ,y MK I Octy, drive back with a VRS MK II TDI See if they notice at the security gates ;)

Really tempted but not sure what I will be able to do. Wonder if I can convince swmbo she wants a holiday, maybe stay on a few extra days.

Sorry if its been posted already, but just wondered how many miles it is from Calais to Prague? The AA routeplanner doesn't seem to cover the Czech Republic.

Hi Steve - How do we book the hotel? Do we follow that link in your post? I'll have booked the ferry in couple of days, but not sure on the hotel....?

Edit: I don't see a mention of twin rooms as opposed to double? Would be a good way of spreading vosts - 108 euros a night is a fair old chunk.

I phoned earlier and yes they do have twin rooms but it might be easier to make your booking over the telephone. There is a UK telephone line which can probably help organise your booking for you, the number is 08706 090961.

I think there will be a few people going that wouldn't mind sharing with you Jason, I'm sure the smell ain't that bad ;) , try talking to Des or maybe Leon, they may be willing to share?.

Has anyone booked a room yet?, if not I have just been looking at the apartments that Gaff stayed in recently and they look like terific value if we get a group sharing. I would be happy to book one of the three bed apartments (which can accomodate up to twelve people) and allocate spaces on a first come first serve basis. Only thing I have to check out is car parking availability!.

What do you think of these apartments or something similar?. (Iwish I had read Gaff's post properly earlier!).

Please respond either here or via a PM to me those that are seriously thinking of coming as I intend to book up this weekend.

Edit: found this one for 847 EUR, even if there is only 10 of us sharing that works out at around £80 each!

"1x - 4-bedroom apartment (140 m2) is suitable for up to 15 persons, has four bedrooms (2 double beds, 8 single beds, others on request), living room (sofa, dining table with 4 chairs, TV), kitchen (electrical stove, fridge/freezer), 2 bathrooms (bathtub + shower corner, WC, wash-basin )", critically it has parking too at 20 EUR extra per night.

Make sure you all check your car insurance for abroad.... friends of ours were caught out buy not being covered.

As per mobile phone call. Very happy with the above change. Means more money to spend on.... STAROPRAMEN! :D

Just small note - there is really bad parking situation in the downtown so IMHO it would be better for you boys to stay in some hotel with its own garage ;).

BIG NEWS No1: I have now booked our apartments (now confirmed) which sleeps 10 in total first apartment has 1 bedroom and can sleep 4 second is a two bedroomed apartment which sleeps 6 both have a living are and modern bathroom facilities. We can squeeze in a further 3 more at a squeeze. We also have 2 confirmed parking spaces but I'm negotiating a further 3 more which should be available by the time we go, parking costs 20 EUR per car per night i.e. 60 EUR.

If there are more people that want to join in then there are plenty of hotels in the area.

We are booked in here: Spalena Apartments. Cost of the two apartments is 1.014 EUR which will be divided equally between however may stay.

BIG NEWS No2: We are now booked into Skoda's factory/museum tour on Friday 15th September at 10:30am (upto 20 people) which all being well means that there will be plenty of time later in the day to go and have a play on that dissused airfield.

All in all, this trip has all the makings of being an absolute cracker so it would be nice to see as many Briskodian's as possible

This is the link to post 1 where all the details are. I'm about to book my ferry. I do hope more people will be coming along.

Edit: I'm getting the oddest thing on th P&O website. My total trip is £60, but when I go book now it just sticks on an extra fiver - any idea why this is?

Little bit of news: Unfortunately the 4 bed apartment is not available to us as it is already booked :thumbdwn: , however, we do have a confirmed reservation (in the same block) on two smaller apartments, a 1 bed (sleeps upto 6) and a 2 bed (sleeps upto 7) + there is only 2 parking spaces available but there is a car park very close by which will accomodate the remainder

I have also asked the booking agent to look into alternatives just in case something more appropriate comes up.

Jeez, trying to organise this is becoming stressful it's all I can concentrate on at the moment :(

I'm just trying to book mine too and they quote me £65 return but at the end bump it up to £75, £10 fuel surcharge  :(

The surcharge is fair enough, thats described in the "small print" - Its the jump from £60 before you hit "book now" to £65 on the next page. I have emailed them about it. Will have to hold off adding m'self to the confirmed list for now. :D

Museum itself is in the town and normally accessible. Certainly, for factory tour they don't let circulate everyone in his car around assembly halls - you really need own people carrier, the guide will join you and guide you through the factory. Or try to ask Skoda if they provide guide with bus - saw Skoda decorated small buses for cca 20 people running around. If you happen to be in Prague, don't miss Technical Museum (http://www.ntm.cz/en/collections/transport.html) - they have some cool motors in there (1890s pioneers, world's oldest Bugatti, Tatra 1930s streamliner and presidential V12, Mercedes of SS top guy whom they shot on the street in 1942 etc). Enjoy!
