Weird Audi A6

Recommended Posts

OK, it was badged (and styled) as an "Allroad" model, but it was also slammed right into the weeds. I only got a glance so no registration.

I saw a smart Audi suv in a car park recently and noticed it had different centre caps to the wheels. Before I could check the model it moved off. May have just had special rims but there was something ‘different’ about the whole car. Do Audi have an ‘AMG’ type division?

There are VW Customising Specialists turning out lovey VAG models with difference,   as there are for many different manufacturers models.

Lots of people do lots of mods to their vehicles, even brand new.

In Scotland there are loads of very noisy Audi,s about, & slammed etc.    Most annoying are the once making lots of noises, pops and bangs and bouncing off limiters and going no place fast just being heard for ages.

Loads of plonkers with old Skoda,s doing exactly the same.  Soot covered rear hatches.

I’ll confess to having been in the ‘modding’ brigade when I had my Subaru Impreza. Had it uprated to 285bhp which from memory was about 50 over standard, fitted a straight through exhaust but kept it to a sensible bore as it was my everyday drive and couldn’t have lived with the ‘boxer burble’ that would have resonated out of a truly fat exhaust. And the dump valve made a lovely noise when it was given some welly.
So miss that car but sadly the practicalities of comfort took the better of me with my back and knees. Moved to a Forester which we kept as standard.

that Allroad you saw being dropped into the grass isnt surprising,

old A4s and and passats dragging their sills around the road are common here too. i reckon the roaring exhaust noise is actually the car screaming from the pain of dragging their undertrays along the road, and the diesel soot is it metaphorically coughing up blood.

jettas are also common place, i saw one the other day dropped so low and wheels so big the owner had cut notches out of the wheel arches to stop the tyres rubbing...

i dont mind cars being modded, but christ do it tastefully and make it worthwhile. its almost a shame though that these cars are now within the budget of young lads with no taste and wanting to look cool with a filthy agri spec saloon...

And odds on they spend money on mods rather than insurance and if they do pay insurance you can pretty much guarantee the mods aren’t declared

I had a painter in with a car in this style. Said that the car was not, registered, mot'd, taxed or insured.
As long as you don't touch the system no one bothers you.

Typically British, follow the rules and you get clobbered with the slightest infraction. Don't follow them at all and it's too much bother to catch you.
