Flies and general insects

Featured Replies

Ive noticed that the front of my car is like a bug graveyard

So have decided that saturday morning is going to be a de bugging day

Im off down to halfords to buy a clay bar to give the front of the car a once over before re polishing

So ill finally get to the question

Will the clay bar remove the dead insects or should i buy some tar/insect remover when im buying the clay bar?

I bought T.Wax's tree sap/ insect remover from their platinum or premium range - can't remember which but its in the green bottles...superb stuff spray and wipe and job done no more flies...states that it doesnt remove polish/wax but i went over the bumper/bonnet with a new layer of Gloss Guard anyway for peace of mind

Window cleaner does an excellent job of removing bugs, due to the ammonia IIRC. But will also take polish off so re apply afterwards.

A good way of stripping it back then Lummox?

Simple tip!!

Get a old tea towel and a bucket of very hot water. Dip tea towel in hot water and place over affect area, wait 1 minute and flies etc just fall off.

I carry a bottle of Minuite clean in the boot, it's a soapy general cleaner [Halfrauds] it has a spray nossel and before I embark on a long trip I spray the front of the car and when I get home it's just a sponge and water, it sort of puts a film on the paint.............It seems to work

Get a Meguairs Lambswool mit. It has a special bug remover on the back. ;):cool:

No......

I have just sprayed my car with a dilute car shampoo solution when the footie finished.....

And just now wiped it all off bugs and all with my spare washmitt...

As good as new, awaiting wash and wax tomorrow:thumbup:

As long as you don't use too strong a solution, and your shampoo isn't too astringent it can be left overnight and will dissolve all nasty dried bugs and tar spots:thumbup:

Honest, I'm not piised really...:D
