VCDS help - wanting all doors to open with 1 button press

Featured Replies

Hi Peeps,

Wondered if anyone local to me (SO18 southampton) with VCDS that would be kind enough to help change my daughters new (to her) Fabia to unlock all doors with a single press of the key rather than 2. Understand someone with VCDS could change this option. Happy to travel to you and supply beer tokens for your time ?

Hopefully its not against the rules to ask? I tried contacting the closest member to me on the register who was really helpful but no longer has access to VCDS.

If not I guess I could take it a Skoda dealer but assume they will charge a pretty penny!

Its a mk2 2013 Fabia 1.2TSI Elegance.

Sorry no idea.   Is it so much of an effort for her to double press the button?

Personally I find the double press a pain in the ar$e. It is the first car I have had that needs that and I don't really see the advantages to it.

Must be someone nearer @jammyb2009, but I'm in OX14 area if you want.

@Jocko  Simple enough.

Opens the drivers door if that is all that is needed, and it can stay un-locked if you want as the others stay locked and un-used.

Thanks guys, hoping there’s someone a bit closer?

It is a pain as the double press to unlock takes multiple attempts and doesn’t always work, sometime works if you click twice really fast it works, other times seems you have to wait a few seconds before pressing again. She quite often has passenger friends or family with her.

Thanks @Breezy_Pete, I’ll see what Skoda would charge but might message you If it’s extortionate or there’s no one else closer than could help.

I find the same. You have to give two quick clicks. If the second click is too slow you have to give another two quick clicks. I am hardly ever in the car by myself so one-click entry would be ideal.

I am near Eastleigh - I can help

Thanks @SJFISHER67 🙂 I’ve bought an OBD adapter, waiting for it to be delivered, think I should be able to change it with the Carista app. If I’m not successful I’ll reach out to you 👍

Carista can do this.

I did this by buying an extremely cheap OBD scanner from Amazon. This is the exact one, although I think it was about half the price when I bought it:

Once connected to the OBD scanner, it allows you to make lots of little mods.

I, for example, have all my doors unlocking with one press and the dashboard needles going to the max and back again when I start up the car.

Pay for Carista for a month (£9.99), make the changes you want, then cancel.

OK. Let me know if you need anything else. More than happy to help.

Yay 🙂 new vgate icar adapter and Carista app worked! One button unlocking, needle sweep at start, beep confirmation on lock 👏

one happy daughter thanks for your help chaps

Brilliant - my original post was deleted because of a rule violation, hence reposting an edited version.

That beep is really useful in big car parks 😂

The sweeping needles are pointless but they look so cool!

I hate that my wife doesn't understand.
