I think driving is too stressful for me

Featured Replies

I used to get very annoyed with rude/aggressive/hopeless drivers. Then I read an article from a IAM/Rospa instructor whose advice was to presume and expect that all other drivers are bad, and therefore not be surprised by bad driving when it occurs. I follow it, don't get annoyed by others very much at all now and basically treat them as simpletons who know no better, instead of a threat or a source of annoyance.

The UK is increasingly full of uncomposed headcases, they will drive cars, and if you let them all get to you then you're basically allowing them to put you in a early grave. Think smart.

I find driving so stressful at times. When people are tailgating and cuting me up my stress levels feel like they are going through the roof. I'm considering not being on the insurance to drive the car. Its mainly my wife who needs the car anyway. I only ever use it to do the weeks shopping or if my wife wants me to drive to give her a break.

I'm trying to lower my stress levels anyway and maybe this is the next best move.

I will still buy a Fabia next as they are very good cars just maybe not a Vrs if I'm not going to drive it.

What Fabia would people recommend?

1.4 Auto makes for a less stressful drive.

1.4 Auto makes for a less stressful drive.

I was going to sugest that myself. 1.4 Elegance Automatic with every conceivable optional extra, pure bliss :)

I too find driving a stress relieving experience. I dunno why, but as soon as I start driving I can feel the stress and anxiety fading away.

Driving is only as stressful as you make it. ;)

In my vRS, it encourages me to drive like a hooligan, keeping on the edge, getting wound up by drivers driving well under the limit etc.

Now I'm in the Mondeo, driving is so smooth, calm and relaxing. For me it really does depend on what car I'm driving.
