Alternator or Battery?

OK, so it's more than one cable wrapped up together, but in the pic with lots of green busted strands, isn't that the thick alternator cable part that's suffered?

Anyway, you've got to replace whatever's degraded dramatically there, so add your reg number or VIN, and I can try to find a part number for the sub-loom.

My god that's a nice clean engine (at least compared to mine!)...

Ha presume your having a laugh, it's got an oil leak I think is from oil pump if the oil pump sits on the right side of the rocker. It's 330k miles on it and probably a lot of original parts still on there

Badly needs degreaser the poor girl

Thanks Pete you've been a big help here.

Removed the loom. And after looking thru eBay n google images finally discovered my loom doesn't go to starter...only the alternator and aircon pump (95% sure)

2nd pic the vin?

Thanks again
