Felicia with Heat Shield in the Intake Manifold

OK then, i the future i will use the IR gun and the digital thermometer, i have them with me.

I would probably give greater acceptance to the digital thermometer than the IR gun pointing at different surfaces and a set positioning on a stand/tripod and not knowing its reliable accuracy and calibration checking from new, the thermometer could have it's own issues but is more likely to be used in the same manner each test and a, hopefully, acceptable range of accuracy in tests.

Here are some measurements that i took few days ago, keep in mind that i am not interested for an ''ultimate test'' nor for ''exactly numbers", i am just trying to see the effectiveness of the Heat Shield so 1-2 'C more or less it's not significant for me.

With Heat Shield left-right side

and without.

The difference is about 20 'C which leaves me satisfied and i think this would be reflected in the Fuel Consumption in long term use.

Here is in the front of the air manifold Heat Shield which has a bigger gap, it's not so tight as in the two braces.

20c that's a big difference, presumably what's under the wraps are at least 20c warmer.

In that test the 80 'C were in the cavity between the fuel injectors, it's few cm below the Heat Shield covered area (on the top of that area are the 60 'C measurement).

Still shows a big difference. which presumably goes somewhere else.

Well that's why ALFAGOMMA L671 failed

I have take a measurement from radiator hoses (external touch with the digital thermometer's metal nose).

Looked very normal, i will post photos tomorrow.

Ferrari 430, the owner of this car decide that needs exhaust Heat Wrapping.

For sure there is no comparison with a Felicia but the owner decide that this would be a benefit for his car

no matter what if an engineer could disagree.
