Anyone managed to get this working on a facelift car?

 

I've followed several guides and end up with a maxi dot message saying dynamic road sign error.

 

And it doesn't work, from what I can't tell this is something to do with the road information from the sat nav not being available or being able to be read. 

 

I have the A5 camera and it's 3Q0 starting I have the Amundsen standard sat nav I think. 

 

Is it a Multimedia issue or something else?

 

Any ideas?

Should work fine on that age and camera.

 

Can you add an autoscan along with an adaption map from 5F.

 

It might also be worth saying which guide you're using...

I believe they were the adaptions I configured or do you need the full history? As its very long winded otherwise?

All control units listed ignore any errors as I have resolved one or 2 I caused and only have 3 error codes now, LED bulbs under seat, key battery and DAN aerial are the only 3 error codes.

Huh that has worked this time although I can't find that channel 151 menu display threshold adaptation for some reason. Not sure what difference that will make. Just been out and it's shows road signs and changes and tells me if I exceed the speed limit into one.

Search for the adaptation channel by name, newer versions with UDS protocol no longer use simple channel numbers.

Bear in mind I'm using OBD11 not VCDS,

Actually it is that I'm struggling to find sorry got a little muddled up there as to what I couldn't find.

 

If I go into adaptions after entering the security code I don't have anything that resembles that.

 

I have noticed on a few 30mph roads it says the speed limit is 60mph and does drop back to 30mph after a while it also shows it as 60 on the factory nav, it also shows a lot of 30mph limits as 20mph as well.

 

 I suspect to update the nav mapping id need a newer version on an SD card?

Updated maps can help to get the TSR display more accurate since when it can't read a speed limit sign it defaults to using map data - but then if the map data is wrong...

 

I've noticed it seems to default to 20 (incorrectly) on several roads near me that are actually 30, that's even with the newest Amundsen MIB2 maps.

It seems from some googling that menu is not available on all cameras so seems to be camera dependant possibly. I googled it and found a thread saying that. Cause in adaptions on OBD11 I have nothing like that. 

Well I downloaded the 2024/25 map data for the inbuilt sat nav but I use Waze or Google maps on android auto mostly anyway. But thought it was worth updating it for the speed limit info. 

 

Would help if the instruction on the sat nav portal actually told you exactly how to do it, but use the original SD card, save the contents off the card just in case, download the correct mapping by checking the version on the car first, unzip the files you download with 7 zip or any zip program. Copy the maps folder to the SD card and the checksum file and then pop the card back into the card and hey Presto. Oh and format it fat32 or exact dependant upon the size of the card. 

 

Have not been out to see if it's solves some of the errors on speed limits yet though. But don't expect much hope.
