Intermittent starting.

On two occasions I have been unable to start the car. On turning the key ignition, absolutely nothing no attempt to turn over, after leaving for 20 minutes or so it starts. Battery has been checked.

Sorry, it’s 1968 cc, it’s manual not automatic.

Ah so a 2.0TDI manual.

Probably the starter motor in the case or the solanoid that operates the starter.  Get a code scan do to confirm.
