Local dealer priced up hyper green vRS estate with sunroof, winter pack, canton and spare wheel.

£4,250 deposit contribution (includes £750 exiting PCP customer contribution) plus £2,000 discount.  OK deal but have asked for wee bit more.

If I am going to pay the luxury car tax may as well get the car how I want it.

Will see what happens.

Further £300 discount and £500 extra for trade-in so order placed.

looks like I am getting mine before christmas, build week 46

  • Very happy with my 72 plate VRs specced with all I wanted(winter pack, rev cam, etc) but it would take a bit to encourage me into the facelift… seeing the standard list price means options will easily

Unknown as order books just opened and are seeing if they can change one of the Octavia orders they have already placed to speed things up.

In no rush as can still use my 245 estate meantime.

Shame any extras tip it over 40k

That seems like an exceptionally good deal if they can make that, and its the new FL version. That calculates to less than their 6.9% headline APR too, so sounds like they must be throwing in some deposit contribution with that too?

yes can’t remember the exact numbers but effectively the 32k is price after contributions. Was via DTD they are spot on used them before.

Been offered a hatch VRS at £32407.00

Includes canton, spare wheel, tow bar prep.

4k down 392 x 47 at optional final payment of 15.4k

whats everyone’s thoughts?

Adding that up gives £37,824

seems to be lots of smoke and mirrors to get to that notional £32407 if then have to add on £5.5k to get back to what you are going to pay.

Only a good deal if you pay off the balance during the first 14 days and only £32.4k leaves your bank account.

you are not wrong. That is how all deals seem to be working these days. It’s effectively a discounted interest rate rather then a discount off the actual price… but again I guess most people are not paying cash for their cars.

hopefully others will post if they find any alternatives

Just reading threads on here.  Could I just ask, regarding paying off the balance in the first 14 days, when is that 14 days from, when you get the car or sign the deal?

14 days is from when you go in to dealership, or online, to sign finance paperwork, just before collecting / home delivery.

Not when the order is placed

Many thanks.  Always wondered

well sadly my local dealer pulman sunderleand) not budging away from list price, so works out pretty much identically to skodas own online finance calculator

might have to reach out to silbury and lookers in newcastle

Just to be clear if you don't settle during the first 14 days, let's say after a month or two you still get a significant discount? Granted your first month is the biggest interest payment....not sure where the crossover point would be.

Yes you still get the discount just lose the interest paid and any early settlement fee. I had a Tiguan r I paid off early no settlement fee so likely the same but you would need to check

Velvet red was my second choice but going to take a risk with hyper green.  Did you get a good deal in the end?

Your car has an estimated build week of week 42, week commencing October 14th.

Not to bad, I was told it would be about 8 months for a golf GTi! Also noticed that VW put their prices up and Skoda didn't. You are over 40k immediately on a golf GTi now if you choose any if the optional coloours and nothing else

I'm away at the moment so hopefully have a date for mine when we get back

Mine got a build week of week 39 so a little before yours. Hopefully delivery will be reasonable after that!

(Ordered Black with DCC and 360 area view).

Re 360 area view - strange how different markets get access to different factory colours and options.

Maybe drivers in Ireland hit more things (and so would make better use of 360 view!

FYP    😝

Hoping some (semi) good deals appear for leasing soon. Keen to place an order for one. Not at over £400 pm though with a chunky deposit.  Especially as a GTI can be had for not a kick in the arse of £300 pm.
