Vacuum leak anywhere - and VCDS errors - Help

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm trying to find while a go, everywhere how to solve this issues (between other minor easier issues, but this one's are a prior).

My Fabia 1.2 , 64HP - 3 cylinder's AZQ engine has a vacuum leak that I cant find where. I've search online everywhere for a full vacuum diagram to check piece by piece, but I cant find a fully diagram anywhere. On most common sites such as on LLLparts, webautocats, ilcats, 7zap etc.

When I bought my car, I immediately went for a oil and coolant pressure, on a mechanical workshop to check any issues. The guy checked a hose that was disconnected (from the engine cover/air filter where have a "V" connection) , and told me that hose was doing nothing and removed it. At that time, I didn't care, and simply believed on him. The truth is that now that hose/tube is missing, and I cannot find what is that tube, and where he connects.

  • So, does anyone have a Fully vacuum system diagram, so I can check hose/tube one by one, in order to check my vacuum system ?

- The car has a weird noise when accelerating

- Super high instantaneous consumption -

- Real (Final) consumptions of 10 - 11L medium

- it almost dies when the car is stopped and I accelerate ( this lead's me to a leak or crazy math's by ECU due to faulty O2 vs Fuel calculation )

- etc.

I've checked and tested many parts, in order to take a look on any possible faulty piece. I've cleaned EGR, throttle body, most sensor's etc. Also, calibrate them (right after) with VCDS.

  • So, here is my 2nd main issue. I was testing everything on VCDS, and suddenly, I got this error:

  • Same error also cloned on "CAN Gateway"

* Ignore the Drive Battery Voltage  error, was due the fact I was testing for too long, and the battery went above what he should, its fine now - but the other 3 errors remains, no matter what. I delete them, but they immediately appears.  I think that could be related with ABS. If I well remember, they appeared while testing ABS, but I didn't code anything.

Also, I've checked the logs, and I cant find any changes made.

From what I've read , this has to do with 4 AWD, and my car has no AWD, but FWD. I didn't code anything, this error appears after some test's - I think was, due to ABS test on VCDS ( my bad, I shouldn't have taken that test - I know that now )

Does anyone knows how to solve this issue ? I've also searched everywhere, but I do only found people who wants to apply the AWD, and not the opposite.

Appreciate for any possible help to solve this.  :)

It's a soft coding issue, you need to recode 16524 to reflect the actual configuration of your car.

Every hose connected to the intake manifold is a vacuum hose. Anything that isn't,  isn't.

So the PCV outlet hose, the EVAP purge valve outlet hose, the brake servo hose and the steel EGR outlet hose are all vacuum hoses, effectively.

The ones connected to the air filter are just sources of clean, filtered air to EGR valve and valve cover.

Thanks for your reply.

I did applied that soft code one 09-cent elect. But didn't worked.

It's to be applied on 09 right ?

I put the code, wait, remove the keys off. And the check, but after clear the errors they remain on vcds

What code are you using for the recode?

The coding structure for onboard supply control unit/ module 9 is as shown in this image.

The derivation of the code for my partner's 2005 car is shown in red. Pick the options that apply to your car, add them all up, and try that.

I'm inside my car, with a broken mobile phone screen and a slowwwwww laptop. I will check that on PC to be easier

None of the errors with E313, G85, or J492 seem to relate to any of the soft coding options in module 09, so I think these must relate to another control unit having its coding corrupted.

I also think the same. From what i've searched, this is related with AWD / 4WD  ( and also with ABS from what I've understand) , which my car doesn't have, since is a FWD - Front-wheel Drive. Somehow during test's on VCDS that was enabled, and since then I cant delete the errors. And I think that happened, once that I (wrong), did some test on ABS.

I've checked dozen of VCDS logs but I cant find anything (any changes that could lead to this).

But its, for sure a corrupted coding control unit. I just can't find which.

I've been around this for several weeks, searched a lot, but I do only find people talking about this, but who they wants to enable the AWD - and not disable it.

I do have the AWD button on VCDS (22), but I cant access on it.

Edit: remembered now; I've made test's and used some Chinese elm327 OBD's to check some on the fly values. Could be, that elm327's have messed with any ECU coding - just wondering.
