2024 Lead/Delivery Time

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the current lead/delivery time on the new model?

I’m pretty close to ordering an IV in SE L spec with no option packs - Are we looking at several months?

It’s a company car so I’m not dealing with a dealer per se.

Leasing company suggest around 10 months but that’s only an estimate they tell me.

I’ll certainly try my local dealer but I was looking for real advice from others who might have ordered in the past month or two.

VW Group might need to limit the ICE vehicles First Registration and delivery in the UK until they can be sure they have the 22% EV,s First Registered because if not each vehicle will cost them £15,000 of a fine.

This next quarter might be interesting for just which models or brands have to ration First Registrations.

I ordered mine on 2nd of August. Had a call from the dealer with a build date in September for delivery in October

mid that’s true then it’s about right. I guess it all depends on the exact spec of your order.

I’m looking at Standard SE L spec with no options.

I spoke to a dealer and they’ve said it’s currently 12 weeks so an order now would arrive towards the end of November.

@Plobber  I assume that was a Dealerships Sales person (Executive) you spoke to. What else are they likely to say?  12 weeks or 16 weeks.

?

Which Dealership Group was that at?

In the past the Kodiaq was sharing production line at Kvasinsy with higher volume Superb and others.   As part of introduction of mk4 Superb, Skoda moved Superb production to Bratislava (the VW factory), so the Kvasinsy plant is concentrating on Kodiaq, Karoq and Octavia production.

Octavia continue to be built at Mladá Boleslav too.

With the aging Karoq due to be phased out soon (the similar size Elroq is about to be launched) presumably the factory will no longer have the big post covid era production backlog and delays.

Yes, it was a salesperson.

An order placed now would be ready in mid-November - How true that is I don’t know but another member above who has placed an order seems to have a similar timescale to me.

  • 1 month later...

Ordered a Kodiaq SportLine today 3 October. Delivery into UK end of February. Just have to be patient I guess.

@arovbukay  This is their job 5 1/2 - 6 days a week.

Ask whoever if accurate, and estimate or guess?

Where are you, that can make a difference, then which dealership group?  They might get dozens of deliveries a month.

The order sheet said End of Feb - but they "assured" me it would be delivered this year

Dealer is Citygate in London

They might well want it First registered and away this quarter / year, get the commission.

Skoda / VW UK will decide though if they want that as they have 22% BEV,s to be first registered and the average co2 emission figures to meet.

Out of the Dealers hands a bit really when the car crosses the channel, get to the dealers & PDI,ed and First Registered.

I've just ordered a 1.5 petrol Kodiaq Sportline with optional extras through D M Keith Wakefield and told the expeted delivery is 15 weeks. So that means mid March 2025, fingers crossed. Another dealer told me 18 weeks.

My car has arrived at the dealer. Ordered 2nd August. Can’t have it yet though coz there is a delay in some of the adaptions that have to come from Italy, nothing to do with Skoda. It’s looking like the end of November/ early December now.

assume this was a SE/SEL ? so they are going to hang on to the car until the additions have been made?
does that then get registered as a 74 plate?

@CFB Is this a Motability lease car that they are buying and which is getting adaptions for disability requirements?

So my SE L IV that was ordered at the end of August has been built and has left the factory for shipping to the UK.

How long are we looking at from a car leaving the factory, arriving in the UK, having the PDI checks and then being available for collection? 3-4 weeks?

It is indeed. It seems the adaptions company waited until the car was delivered to the dealer before they ordered the kit from Italy.

Also, I believe that this is one of the first Kodiaq 2 to the other parts of the adaptions and there aren’t any equipment suppliers that can supply them. I have agreed for the adaptions company to use my car to design the kit, so it will take a week rather than a couple of days. I’m ok with that as I’ve managed to squeeze a discount from them privately.

It is an SEL 2L diesel. I would prefer petrol, but the petrol version isn’t available on Motability yet.

It’s has already been registered on my private plate, but yes, It will have a 74 plate when it goes back.

@CFB

Are you paying for it now and the 3 year lease and time to the first MOT counting down?

Motability pay for popular adaptions, sometimes a contribution is required, are you paying out yourself?

I don’t start paying until I take delivery and the lease also starts then, as normal.

Most of the adaptations are paid for by Motability but I need an under ring for the accelerator, which is the bit I’m waiting for.

I’ll be paying for this as, unfortunately, it’s not on the free list. Sadly, the cost has doubled from my current car five years ago.

Leasing for 5 years is sensible when needing adaptions.

I am planning on buying a car exactly the same as i have now when the car is at 3 years as they are likely to be cheap enough.

No point me extending the lease, or having the Dealership buy the one i am driving and then me buying it from them.

Unless something i really fancy is on offer at a very good offer.   Like they have the Enyaq priced at the moment.

It’s a shame you can no longer buy the car you currently lease, directly from Motability.

I thought when you handed the car back, that it went straight to auction. Can the dealer make an offer to buy the car before that?
