Chris Knott renewal

Featured Replies

Just got my renewal through from Chris Knott,

You consider yourself lucky. My renewal only increased by £20. If you've got a modified car, you may want to give Adrian Flux a try too. But they are bound to ask the same underwriters (Highway Insurance?) and as such will get the same quote back. It's always worth a few phonecalls, and then telling Chris Knott you've had a better offer elsewhere... chances are they will equal or better it.

Greenlight were the next cheapest after Chris Knott for me. TBH though I'd be glad it hasn't gone up, insurance very rarely seems to go down.

Well it should go down, especially considering that I've got an extra years no claims. Thought that was the whole point of getting more noclaims.

Adrian Flux using Ensign have just quoted £668...

Not heard of Ensign before

There is a cap on the amount of discount you get through your NCB. Think from 6 years NCB, you'll no longer get any more discount (65%?).

Just got my renewal through from Chris Knott,

If you've you've got a girlfriend, put her on the insurance as a named driver. Mine saved me 300 quid! Strange but true. I've had to hide the keys from her though.

Admiral came in cheaper than Chris Knott for me on the Mondeo, but it may depend how modified the car is :D

Don't even go there, they consider a dump valve a major modification and won't touch it!! And wanted

as long as I don't go over the magic 180bhp figure, I can modifiy to my hearts content

At the wheels or at the flywheel? ;)

Chris

thats a different issue....

then of course you get different figures depending on who's RR you use.

:D

My K&N panel filter did not affect my premium and my tuning box only added a couple of quid on.... :D

Chris

I may have to have words with them again, not best impressed when they told me that. I also enquired about a rear ARB, i might have well asked them to insure a Veyeron!!

Try Brentacre and HIC... LOADS of people are using them now, and they are getting some VERY good quotes. Google search both of them for their numbers.

Are any of these companies above (especially Chris Knott seeing as they're a site sponsor) suitable for insuring non-modified cars? Just wondering if I should add them to my list, come renewal time.

Cheers,

Steve.

Chris Knott is a broker, not an insurer. For non-modified cars I'd stick the details on confused.com and take the cheapest quote.

I had the same with chris knott a few months ago

renewal was only about

You either live near a nuclear factory or drive a Ferrari Enzo on a provisional... Why wouldn't they insure you?

Dunno:confused:

Unless it was because I put my renewal date as it is really ( September) and it was too far ahead for them?

told chris knott how much they quoted and they were prepared to match it

If Chris knott aint prepared to give a decent quote in the first place, why go back to them? They wanted me to supply a copy of the price from Adrian Flux, effort on my part.
