Traffic sign recognition coding

Featured Replies

Hey, I’ve had my new Skoda KAROQ Sportline since the end of January now.

when getting the car I was under the impression that TSR would’ve come as standard, there wasn’t much online about the specifications included as standard I think due to chip shortages etc…

just wondering if I bought something like OBD eleven or Carly if I’ll have the option to code it in? Was seeing if anyone else has had any luck doing this. It’s a 73 plate KAROQ Sportline…

I’ve read online the camera by the rear view mirror is all that’s needed and mine has that because of the matrix headlights but you never know with how these manufactures like to change things…

I’m still looking at getting OBD eleven anyway for things like beeping when locking and unlocking but would be nice to get the TSR and at a push lane assist even tho I’m not a fan of it 🙉🤭

if anyone’s had any experience with this or similar any advice would be great! TIA 🙂

Which model year is your Sportline? do you know the build date? I have a 2023 Sportline 73 plate Sportlines  24 plate build date May/June 2023 it has Lane Assist but no Traffic sign recognition., which uses the same camera. I test drove 2024 and they had TSR. They are post on here for the VCDS coding to activate TSR.

Forgot to say. If you are using the Skoda App with the first year free access, download the digital certificate, it will list the exact build of your Kariq.

Hey mate, it says it’s a 2023 build, it was built right at the end of last year , wasn’t registered or registered to me until the start of this year. I’m assuming that all the gear for it is already in the vehicle just wasn’t ever switched on 🙉

Shouldn't really do that as this was apparently banned under EU rules, and subsequently incorporated in ours. However, I know that some Range Rovers and the like can be coded to do this. My daughter's Renault Capture does as well.

In the mid 80s we were driven bonkers by someone down our road who had the chirping on a Ford of some description. Wh would be in bed and he would come home, two chirps as he locked his car, another when he unlocked it because he had forgotten something, two more when he locked it again. Every night! No wonder they tried to stop it. Why do you need the sound. If itis to confirm the car is loked, the indicators on most cars flash.

Honestly mate it’s just a bit of piece of mind.. and aswell we’re usually always out and about meaning parking in crazy busy car parks so I’ve missed being able to easily find my car instead of hunting up and down them massive isles lol 😂🙉 our BM and Mercedes before both allowed us to just select an option to turn it on so would be nice to get something similar again

You can always use the Honk and Flash feature on the Skoda Connect App.

The apps well hit or miss for me to be honest.. some days it works flawlessly other days it just doesn’t do anything 🤭 I honestly mostly use it now to keep track of all the £££ im spending in fuel 🥲

I've been following this with interest, TSR is the one feature of the 24 plate Karoqs I test drove that was on the 'FOR' side of the comparison with the 73 plate that I actually purchased. On the AGAINST side of the  24 plates was the higher purchase prices and being over £40K initially had the additional penalty of £2.5K RFL over the next 5 years.

I have contacted HazzyDayz  and they have confirmed that my Karoq is fitted with the correct QK1 camera and have quoted £175 +vat to fit..
