Could someone please tell me what this box is for? Is it a sensor or some sort of control box. After a front-end shunt, the ACC no longer works and I'm wondering if it's to do with this box? Thanks for any help.

Yup, its the radar sensor, vital part of the ACC system.

(Correct alignment of it has to be done with specific dealer equipment as far as I know )

 

I’m surprised it didn’t auto brake for you 😞 

It’s used for ACC and front assist.

If its not damaged it could be re-calibrated. Theres a few places that would do it, but depends if you are going through insurance.

At the very least, it looks like the mounting brackets are broken.

True, only saw when zooming in. I dont know if the housing with brackets, probably not.
