Hello, i want to put Passat W8/Superb interior light into my octavia 1. Interior lights i have right now has an "Airbag off" display but the W8 light doesn't seem to have one. My question is what should i do with the Airbag display connector? Just unplug it and tuck it away or its needs to be connected?

 

Also how hard is it to retrofit a dash ilumination dimmer switch because i dobt have one right now, the one next to the headlight leveling switch.

Why do you want to install a CANBus courtesy light unit in a pre-CANBus car? It may be possible, if you spend about GB£10_000 on doing it.

It was done many times before.. many people installed w8 or superb lights in octavias and mk4s.

I found a solution to the "airbag off" thing.

 

That leaves me with on question, is it hard to install and wire up the dashboard dimming switch.
