Mark 4FL High Beam Assist

Featured Replies

Have a new mark 4 SEL facelift( basic LED Headlights),  Skoda app etc says it has High Beam Assist, now dealer says it isn't on this model.  Anyone else seen this.

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Personally, I'd tend to believe the online spec over the dealer.

There is an easy way to test - try switching to HB in an area with good street lighting (without oncoming traffic) - if you need to push the HB stalk forward twice before they switch to high-beam (blue tell-tale indicator lit) - you have HBA.

Thanks for reply.  Had 2 Mark 3 FLs and it was easy.  mark 4 FL says to enable via infotainment , however the option does not show. Skoda UK say they will get back to me.  I was just hoping someone else has the same issue, or they have the beam assist working.

I had to buy it (about 30 euros, from memory) in the app.

€30! £179 in uk

I got it as a freebie as I had a complaint about speed sign recognition and pushed my luck.

defo not with £179 in the uk.

i use it about once a month in the winter

Well it turns out that High Beam Control is not on new Facelift Mark 4.  This has been confirmed by an email from Skoda UK.  They state High Beam Control is in the SEL spec in UK but now I am told that the manual range adjust is what they mean.  Can't say I'm too happy about it.  Why mention it if it is just manual range adjustment?

What a load of nonsense! - so they are now calling the HB control stalk (which every vehicle with twin-beam lights must have as standard) 'HBA'?

Good luck with Skoda UK.  I never got a suitable resolution.

Strange a couple of people have even posted the price. Perhaps I will investigate further in the new year. Thanks for the reply.

They didn't have a mark 4 FL.  Need to look in the infotainment screen for lights.  If it is available it will be there, but likely not available.

It's available to purchase in the shop for me, at the currently discounted price of £143. Isn't really that much hassle to manually adjust it so won't be bothering at that price personally

Thanks, but the Mark 3 had it as an option, it's the new one since May 2024 version that doesn't have auto high beam.

Hi there, just joined the group and saw this topic, I just picked up my mk4 3 weeks ago, just a standard se technology other than metallic paint and 17” wheels and mine seems to have the high beam assist ? When you push the high beam lever forward you get the high beam light in blue with an “ A “ in it , you adjust the sensitivity, high seems to work best for me. Also I thought this model didn’t have the scrolling rear indicators ( not sure that’s the technical term) but it seems to have that, I’m sure I read it was on the sel or a option

Maybe there were some spares left over in the parts bin and they just popped them on?

In all seriousness though, tech or options advertised in the brochure or spoken about by selling dealer doesn't always match what car you end up with. If you've got more than you thought, this is probably a good thing!

Absolutely! No complaints from me 😀👍🏻
