Im pretty sure they are a completely sealed unit so the battery cannot simply be changed.

The unit will need replacing as one.

Depending on the variant it may be bolted to the plenum intake or to the lower windscreen and need drilling out.

I realised I put this in the wrong forum (Mk1 instead of Mk 2) but thanks for the reply. I will look in those locations. As for being sealed - I'll open it!
