Can anyone shed some light on what may be the problem. 
2014 octavia 2.0tdi DSG

parked to get fuel, got back into car, turned key and it quickly attempted to start then cut straight out, did this 3 times. Took key out tried again and it started. Its now done this on 3 occasions but only the last time I took key out. 

Scanned with VCDS and the only thing which looks strange is Auto Transmission 1 fault intermittent. Starter enable from selector lever sensor system. P1734. not confirmed.

Sounds just like the switch / selector imobilizing car, when in park or moving a fraction before you have foot on the brake and move out of Park. 

 

After 10 years of use and how many miles these things can happen.

 

Just now if things get worse you can park in N and use the Parking Brake and start the car again in N, just till you get the car checked out.
