Remap for a Saab Turbo?

Featured Replies

Can anyone recomend/advise as to what remaps are available for a Saab Turbo (52 plate iirc). A friend of mine has one and now knows the benefits of a decent remap and seemed really interested to find a good tuner that can give him a bit of extra 'oooommph'.

You are looking for a product called the BSR PPC (see pic), it is like an AMD one-click (you can put car back to stock at any time)

I had one of these on my 2002 9-3 Aero. Recommended. 205hp at the wheels through an autobox, 249lbft.

If you mates car is manual gearbox expect a few more hp at the wheels due to less transmission loss and about 280lbft (the map is a bit different from the autobox map because the autobox is only rated to 250lbft and thus they limit the torque on the map).

About 400-500 quid IIRC, for stage 1 (they send you the map loaded onto the PPC unit + a JR filter).

Stage 2 (what I had) consists of the map, drop in JR filter and a catback, about 900 quid for all that.

More info about my experience with this on the Saab is here: http://www.jabbasworld.net/viewtopic.php?t=22013&highlight=saab

Abbott Racing, Hirsch, Maptun and BSR seem to be the trusted mappers.

Look on www.saabcentral.com also ;) (Could even search for Texasjohn if you are really bored!)

Bummer is, it costs a few hundred quid more than a VAG remap :-(

Liking the fact you can get Saab approved performance tweaks as well, would love to see that happen at a certain VAG brand ;)

Many thanks all of you for your speedy advice, will be passing it on

I'm another for Abbott Racing, they've looked after me in the past!
